I really do think that being able to change sides so easily and with little penalty leads to much hate and aggravation.
How about something like:
For the fist month you can change sides once a week. This lets a player visit all 3 countries and then a week to settle in.
After that your locked into that country.
You have to wait a Month (or a week , 2 weeks, or whatever - just more than 'report all CV locations back to my country, take a long dump, switch back')
and pay $4.89 to change sides.
Or any of many variations on that theme.
Thanks for a great game. <saaaalute>

Cool.. I now have to pay extra if I want to wing up with a few friend "over there"? And I should PAY for helping to balance the numbers?
wow.

lol boy ,,, that went south really fast!!! :x :bolt:

Worst idea ever.

rofl - yea it did.
Ok, of the 'many variations' is one with NO monetary payment. Or just more time between changes. Some penalty to make it
harder.
How about losing pilot rating. This is most damaging when a player with a high pilot rating
moves to another country to take over a carrier to place it in harms way. Sometimes it can take a while to find someone to
dislodge this guy, but by then the enemy bombers have completed their run.

If anything, we need more encouragement to switch, more players doing it.

Can you expand on that bit plz. I'm basically a noob (dweeb more appropriate?) trying to acquire greater understanding.
Thanks and <saaaalute>

I had no fish this week yet, I I'll bite:
- More even sides = more fun for more people
- More even sides = less complains about ENY limits
- More players playing on every country from time to time = Less prejudices and craptalk like "Rooks always this ... Bish always that... ENY never hits the enemy the way it hits us... HT is a Bish/Rook/Knight, so he made their tanks stronger than us" - It's like in real life: Traveling abroad educates & broadens the mind :)

Think about the squads that change country ?
-
I've never understood why side switching is frowned upon by some. As fun as playing cartoon fighter/bomber/gv/boat pilots is the lasting enjoyment of this game is the people and the friendships that form.
If I stuck to one country I wouldn't have two thirds of the friendships that I currently enjoy, to trade that to stop a few sad people (and I do believe that relatively few people) who care so much about "winning" that they feel compelled to stoop to trying to exploit the system just isn't worth it.

I see his point on switching side's in the M/A. It's not fair when you and you'r squad mate's agree to meet and go up against another squad at a pre arranged time and date for a private squad battle. which you nodout land up inviteing all other's on both side's and it becomes one big furball and some poor country lands up thinking hey where is everyone lol. I believe that the 50 minute rule for changeing side should be increased to last the entire battle for the map. i mean if you have friends on the other side you can easily talk to them over the text buffer by typing in their names to the buffer. Or get teamspeak 3 and set-up a non dedicated server to chat wi your buds when they on different side's. Or get together and create a vox channel and a new squad.
A thew problems solved.
But then even WW2 there where spy's HHHHMMMMM
all together it's up-to HTC to decied what happens if they deam it unfair then they will try to combat it. But remember the more they have to keep upgrading the game to cover eventual cost they may have to start charging us a couple o extra dollar's.
Per upgrade. I mean it can and may happen.
You all may take the mikey but think on it !!!!!!!!!!! :O :O :O :O :O :O :O :O

Dude you have a real issues going on. Do you actually take this game so seriously that you need to get a BBS shade account and rant, wish and rave about spying and side switching? Let me clue you in on something bud. If you're that damned worried about some chump spying on your master plan of winning an unwinnable, never ending war then maybe you need to step out for some much needed fresh air. IT AIN'T THAT IMPORTANT.

Yup; when I was a bish, I hated the knits and rooks. When I went rook for a month, I realized that their quarter masters didn't issue them horns and a tail. Now that I'm rook for the indefinite future, I may harbor a dislike for the bish with the nasty habit of shooting back, but i don't hate them.
Still don't like the knits. Nothing I've seen during my stints there have inclined me to think that they play fair, or are even remotely friendly.
-
The Knights are just as friendly as any other country. It just takes a while for folks to get used to someone going back and forth. You'll get to know the looneys in every country after a while. I call them looneys because I know some guys that's been playing for 10+ years and ain't won the war yet :rofl How F'ed up is that?! :rofl
-
You'll get to know the looneys in every country after a while.
Sometimes it's almost creepy how every looney in your chesspiece country you have thought to be absolutely unique has his exact pendant on both other countries.
-
Also a little strange how each country has its own personality. Knits seem more reserved, and withdrawn. Rooks are more squad minded, and within their little circles, they are very close. Bish are the loveable drunken uncle of the group. They are friendly and open, but once they get started, they won't shut up.

Lusche, shouldnt you be over in the tank/self-propelled guns thread??? :neener:

if we didnt have the squad aspect of the game the best way would be to have auto balance. Ive never agreed with people that switch sides to "balance" To many times ive seen people switch to the "low number side" for it to be the high number side 10 minutes later and they are stuck for an hour. Stay where you are, it will all balance out in the end. Just my personal feeling, I know some agree and some dont.

most people that switch to "balance" the game are a joke. they only switch either because they're getting killed or to take advantage of the horde and get more kills. seen way too many people I am fighting with and help to get away only to witch and come back couple of minutes later to kill me when I am low on gas an ammo or there's a few of us holding back some dweebs and all of a sudden the dweebs switched and now are on our side. I'll never understand why it is allowed by the game same as for eny. switch to balance makes as much sense as for example today, knights have 60% of our bases and eny is at 20 . yeah knites had more players but there was lots of milk runners that had no intention of defending bases. so the "low" side took more bases. I got disgusted and logged.

This coming from the same shade whos first post was about how to cheat the game. I just couldn't resist to feed him.

Agreed.

How about randomly switching which chess piece represents your country? :devil

Then you would be "THOSE chess pieces over there". :uhoh

Yes, all 3 sides would be united in their hatred of THEM. :D
-
i think everyones country should change 3 times a day, everyone flies spit 16's with endless fuel and endless ammo. also it will further encourage others to fight more if we disable the whole getting shot down thing.
-
I think I was Bish last night, but I'm not sure. I know I was Knit the other night. Folks seem pretty much the same. Had one guy screaming in big caps for help with a carrier offshore. Some of us went to help, but the carrier had already been sunk. Seemed kinda silly to holler for help if the fight was taken away. But that's every chess piece.
Sometimes I get to wing with folks I enjoy flying with, and sometimes I get shot down by the same people. All in good fun. Last I checked I still haven't really died and the sun has continued to come up each morning :)
Now if a particular country offered me more money to stay with them, I'd consider it. Til then I'm a free agent and will play where the fight is best :aok

I have an idea. How about Sakoo pays HTC for every player he allows to switch sides? That sounds fair to me.
