Title: Amplifying sounds?

I would like to amplify the individual sounds files in my sound pack (.wav)

How would i go about this?

You will need a music or general audio editing program, I believe.

 Goldwave, i think it is still a free program. Here is a link, but you may want to search for something better.

If you open the sound file in a suitable program you can edit velocity, eq, pitch, balance and a load of other stuff. then just save the file and put it back in the sounds folder.

Be careful though.  You will be processing a volume increase to the actual audio data.  Many (most) soundpack sounds are already pretty much at maximum and raising the level further will just cause distortion (unpleasant distortion at that).  You may want to use a Limiter (within the sound editing software) setting the threshold to maximum (0 db) or just below (-.2 db or so) with a gain increase BEFORE the limiter not as makeup gain after the limiter.

I would be happy to explain further once you have the editing software and let me know which it is.

Thanks, im gonna download it tomarrow and mess around. Just wanted to see if i could switch some things up.

On Xp i found a free program named sound recorder.

I use audacity too.
