This one hit close to home...Blair Thompson was killed last month in Afghanistan. He was a grad of the 2008 class in my city and was only 19 years old. :cry He was in Afghanistan for a mere few weeks.
<S> Blair, thank you for serving.

It hurts my heart to see us lose these young kids. This young man gave all for his country and he didn't even get to experience it's true wonders yet. My sympathies to his friends and family. :salute

this is the kind of stuff that makes me sick to my stomach.
he looks like a kid.....i mean he looks like he's 15. i hate seeing our young people going like that, and seeing this worries me, as one of my CAP cadets(now a marine) just deployed to afganastan.......and i worry about him as if he were my own kid.

My nephew just deployed too with his unit of the 101st. It's going to be a long year and some hoping he gets home safely. Somehow it seems more fair that us old folks go do the dirty work as we've had our chance while we let our kids grow up a bit.
<S> to your friend Spikes and condolences to his family for their terrible loss.

Only 3 years older than myself.
It is men like him, those who came before, those who serve our safety now, and those who will serve in the future that keep our nations safe. And no matter the cause, no matter their deeds in life, everyone of them to a man (and woman) is a hero.
