OK - Here's the deal.
For reasons not known I was born left handed, which is fine except for ink smudges and flight sims.
At present I run a CH Flightstick Pro in my left hand with CH pedals. Great products no complaints
Now the right hand is where it gets interesting.
At present there is a Logitech Gamepad with the left paddle for Left/Right - Up/Down view and the right for the 2 view axes.
The analogue portion is turned off and the hat swith is for RPM and Throttle - I hope you get the picture - other buttons for mike, damage, check 6 so on and so forth.
If someone with a CH Pro Throttle can give me an honest appraisal as to whether you could use it in your right hand with the throttle input reversed and get used to it. I know it will feel odd but your thoughts would help.
And I know there is someone who can convert it, but I have asked and it's a package deal - joystick and HOTAS together and I don't feel inclined to need another joystick.
Anyway any thoughts appreciated except the "Why don't you just fly right handed?" one. Firstly use your left hand and see how your ability deteriorates, secondly I had about 3 years of the Nuns tying my left hand behind my back to "encourage" me to write right handed - I'm not keen to repeat the process a few decades later..
Thanks in anticipation.

Heya ThreeUp,
I myself am also Left Handed, although back when I started using joysticks for flight sims, their was only the Flight stick Pro that even came close to being usable for Left handed people...... so I taught myself since 93/94 to use the Combat and then the FighterStick products by Ch......
I have been doing so for a good while now, although I am left handed, I use the complete CH HOTAS setup CH FiterStick, Pro Throttle, Pedals....
if you indeed need to use them in a left hand dominant compacity, then you migtht as well go all in and hvae "HomeBoy" custom fit you a Left handed CH HOTAS set ( CH Fighter Stick & CH Pro Throttle for Leftys )
I just now moved my Pro Throttle to the right side and even turned it around, and I seriously doubt it would be useful in any way using it with the right hand.....
you could take on this endeavor yourself and "custom build" yourself your own Right handed throttle...... just to see what you might come up with...
their are all kinds of different potentio meters, pots, modules, hall sensors etc.... readily available if you wanted to give it a go and experiment.... you can pick up all sorts of game controllers, joysticks, throttles, etc at thrift stores, goodwill stores, craigs list, ebay etc.......
but if it were me, I would try and scrape up the funds and have homeBoy craft me my own prsona CH Lefty Hotas.....
best of luck to ya....

I'm left handed as well but for whatever reason I've always used the joystick in the right hand and the throttle in the left. There was a fella that posted under the handle "Homeboy" that used to modify and sell a CH products left handed HOTAS system. Not sure if he's still around but you may be able to reach him through his website to see if he's still producing and selling the mods if you're interested.

I believe this is what you want to check out:

edit... someone beat me to the punch while I was researching.. oh well best of luck to you
note.. I should note that I too am a Lefty, but for some reason I can't get comfortable using a stick with my left hand...

I'm left handed as well, but I taught myself to be more ambidextrous. I used a silver dollar in my right hand and forced myself to learn how to do as much with the right as I can with the left, once my hand dexterity was up with that, I moved to other exercises. Didn't take very long. Now I use the stick in the right hand and throttle in the left.

I'm right-handed and I have just as many buttons mapped to the throttle on the left as I do to the stick on the right. In World of Warcraft my left hand is on the keyboard and has to precisely reach and hit any of... lemme count... I just counted... 29 keys including the left shift, left alt, and left ctrl. My right hand only has to move the mouse and click 6 buttons plus the scroll wheel. So I guess I've learned to play WoW left handed?
In the end its just muscle memory and handedness shouldn't be a factor. To sum up: You'll learn it in time. And that's a lot less expensive than getting your gear customized.
To answer your question, I think the stick could be used, for the most part, with the left, but the throttle is a no-go, without it being customized. There was a guy who posted here before that did that kind of work though, you'll have to search for it.

I just tried to use the throttle backwards, I didn't notice that part of your post (I also have the CH throttle). You'd be able to use one 4-way hat and that's about it. Maybe palm the 3 buttons if you're really careful. It still feels uncomfortable and that's just holding it for about a minute like that. I still say no, there's gotta be a better option.

homeboy does a great job making the CH HOSTA left handed. The link is above.

Thanks for all your helpful advice and suggestions - I really am obliged gentlemen!
I think the only way to go is the conversion or change hands.
Something to ponder.
Anyway I just wanted to express thanks.
