So, from some browsin on the internet I have found a site that says that one of the USSR's top aces, flew an La-5FN with a "Bass Mouth" painted onto the cowl, when I did some more research, I found someone who made a model of an early La-5, with the same paint job, here is the model first, as it shows the best image of the skin :
(http://www.hyperscale.com/2007/features/images/DSCN6272.JPG) and then here is the picture of the painting I found : (http://www.shipmodels.com.ua/images/models/vasiljev/11_b.jpg), now I dont know what to think here as from what I can tell the painting looks to be an La-5FN, due to the large duct ontop of the cowl, but I am still not sure, if any of you can find out if this skin, or something similar was acctually used on an La 5FN, would anyone be able to skin it?
thanks for taking the time to read this

It's an La-5 not an La-5FN and IIRC got the official "negatory".
But, I could be wrong.

Razorback=la-5
another quick way is to look at the exhaust.
The green skin for the la-5fn is an la-5 skin. They may have allowed it because some la-5s were converted to the bubble top.

I think you may have interpreted my question wrong, I know the model is just and La 5, but the artist depicted what seems to be the same markings, on an La-5FN, which is what is in the painting, so I guess I am asking wether or not that that "paint job" was acctually used on an La-5FN, or if its just the artist who messed up,
never mind, I realise that I read your responses wrong, I see now, so no La-5FN's use the Bass mouth on there nose then?

Photo says it all. Sadly not acceptable.
