im pulling for spain but germany has been playing great, what do you think
-
Germany has been playing too well, unfortunately. I think they'll win.
-
This should be a great game.
Both are so very skilled... and both have fantastic attacking styles. But I'm going to have to go with Germany on this. They have been looking unflappable through the entire tourny.
-
Spain have been a bit of a disappointment so far IMHO.
On the other hand, Germany have been the most exciting team to watch.
For that reason, and because I lived in Germany for a bit, "Deutschland Uber Alles" - just for today ;)
-
This is germany's cup, they're woopin some ass :aok
-
¡VAMOS, ESPAÑA!
-
goooooaaaaalllll!
-
I'm a flippin jinx.
My apologies to Germany, Brazil, Argentina and the USA for ruining your chances.
-
Good to watch a team that can pass!
Very good game, Spain edged that second half but Germany always looked dangerous on the counter attack.
A new name on the cup. The final is going to be a rip snorter!
Fabio take note.

Spain wins! I'm shocked!! :headscratch:

I am happy. :rock

Shocked? Spain were the better team, that was though their best performance of the tournament.
You have to feel sorry for the Germans as they worked their socks off.

Iniesta looked like Greg Louganis because of the blatant diving. I noticed the Germans changed their tune with him in the 2nd half, they'd work to give Spain throw-ins instead of his BS free-kicks. That was the only problem I had with the game.
Germany deserved and was screwed out of that Penalty Kick towards the end.
I still see the Dutch winning this.
-
YAHH go spain
-
the octopus called it. No shock at all. :D
Spain dominated possession which was always on the cards, coulda, woulda, shoulda scored a few more, can't believe pedro didn't square it for torres.
was a very interesting tactical battle and a big :salute for the effort both teams showed.
-
Just goes to show how accurate the Octopus can be :lol
Spain v. Netherlands!!

Did we just post about the Octopus at the exact same time? :lol

1944 - Joan Pujol (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juan_Pujol) , from Barcelona, sends the German army to Calais.
2010 - Carles Puyol (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carles_Puyol), from FC Barcelona, sends the German team to... Germany.
-
great game :aok
still supporting the cloggies for the final, but smart money has to be on spain.
-
I still see the Dutch winning this.
+1

This was not the German team that kicked arse during the tourney. :huh
I was never impressed with Spain. That being said, they in the finals? :headscratch:

believe it or not raider yes it was. Spain were tactically superior, they actually have a MIDFIELD and defence that work as one!
The counter attack didn't work against them and the Germans didn't appear to have any other options.
I think Spain will win it. If the Germans couldn't break them the Dutch won't, unless they score some more wonder goals ;). I think casillas can be a little crazy and is their weakest link.
Spain have been a little stop-start misfiring but they could really destroy a team if they hit their peak.
A death by 1000 passes indeed.
Either way the team who does win will make history for their country so we can only applaud that.

That octopus is crazy good at this. Wish he'd been around when I was doing the Littlewood's Pools.
-
I though germany looked deadly on the break over the tournament (they were :() but spain are at least as good. they are a handful in all areas of the game. then again if bronkhorst can shoot half as well as he did against urugay ...
-
ah crap, germany didnt showed the full potential, i think it was just a bad day.
They looked tired, very slow, complete different then the games before :/
Spain on the other side looked ultra fast, good gameplay. Its beyound me how spain
lost against switzerland... maybe just a bad day ;)
i doubt i will watch the game for the 3rd place Germany vs. Uruguay.
The Fun is over, i'm slowly transforming back from the Hyper-Fan to the
cu in two years at the EM 2012.
Well now its time for Holland, i hope they beat Spain !

Goes to show you that past performances don't garuntee future results. It's just comes down to how one team plays that day and a little fortune.

Not really, up to Germany, all the teams played ultra-defensively. Germany tried to attack, and that lead ultimately to their demise. Spain plays 100% like FC Barcelona, and if you try to play by their rules (attacking), you are screwed. Defensive teams are good at playing -without- the ball. Germany needed posession to play at their level, but they were denied it by the impressive movement of the ball from Spain.
