Hello pimpjoe

I had my logitech wingman extreme digital 3d for maybe 2 months without any problems, now getting that problem.

Even in Windows Gaming Options Joystick setup, or in AH joystick setup.  Rudder seem ok moving to the right but left movement  crap!

Have 3 friends who have this same stick ( one has the forcefeedback )
2 of them are ok  1 has the same problem as me.

Pokie          Windows 2000me                     spiking
Friend 1      Windows 98                              spiking
Friend 2      Windows 98                              ok
Friend 3      Windows 2000me     FFback      ok

May be looking into this tonight, if I get any info I will pass it on.

Simply work around it with the AH joystick setup.  My Sidewinder twisty does this too, so I simply increased the deadband until I could move the stick in the other axis without spiking the rudder.  I had to dampent the rudder quite a bit too.

I had virtually the exact same experience as pokie.  The stick started spiking after two months and was unuseable after 3 months.

Same problem when I had that stick pimpjoe.....I liked the feel of it and was really happy til that rudder issue came up.  I finally ended up trashing it and getting a MS Sidewinder Pre-Pro, no problems since.....

Wingman Extreme 3D FF - stick sitting in center position... rudder spikes off chart after 2 months

Now my venerable TM X-Fighter had something go snap in the base and it's not a spring

Here's my update to my problem.

Have 3 friends who have this same stick ( one has the forcefeedback )
2 of them are ok 1 has the same problem as me.

Friend 1 Windows 98 spiking              The Fix

Calibrated the joystick in AcesHigh saved settings.   Then (still in  AcesHigh ) selected the Rudder from the Axis box and increased the Dead Band.
The joystick working.

Pokie Windows 2000me spiking          The Fix

Well I tried everything, even on Friend 1 computer.
Ended up taking the joystick back for replacement.
Still needed to calibrate the new one in AcesHigh and set the Dead Band for the Rudder from the Axis box.
The Dead Band is set about 1/2 ways up.
Joystick now working.

Only problem now is  "I still can hit the side of a barn"  :D
