Heyas I recently installed Dx8.
(http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/eek.gif) I got a real scare when I did lol. I installed Dx8 and when told to reboot, I did. When the pc booted, i could hear a loud, high pitched sound from the monitor (Opti Q71). I run 1024 on my desktop at 85hz usually. For some reason, perhaps it was Dx8, but when I checked display properties I noticed refresh rate was set to optimal. I immediately set it to 85hz and the sound discontinued. Heh I was panicking when I heard the sound, thought my monitor was going to pop.
v3 3000 agp with 1.07 drivers.
Anyone else notice something similar?
BTW everything works fine now, just thought I would mention this to warn anyone considering installing Dx8.
