post the first 1/3 of your dxdiag bullet..
-
now thats crazy! how did you get the blackout edition of AH?
-
looks like a very unhappy video card.

Couldn't agree more. I have seen this before. But never with AH.
-
Video card overheating or video RAM failing would manifest that.
-
What could he do to fix it? Replace the fan or check the heat sinks?
-
Check for dust clogs, make sure the fan is running, check to see if something is blocking air flow around the card.

All's Fine with the Card and fan running good. Im just trying to uninstall but it says could not find Hightech Creations folder please verify its existance.
So im re downloading the game to see if a reinstall fixes it :)
Will let you know the results :)

Ok problem Solved i found out what whent wrong and i shall post it here Skuzzy you may want to pass this onto Pyro And hitech. Ok so last night my Ace's went Crazy as you can see from the picture i posted last night. So after posting for help i Shut the Computer down for the night and started it up today again. And i got the normal loading up of ace's but there was a hidden catch. When i tried to go into an Arena after the loading bar on the page was finished screen went a bit funny and then it said that Ace's High II exe is not responding. So i deleted the entire game from my system and redownloaded it and installed it and now it works perfectly. ( Oh and if you do this dont put your Stick setting's back in the Folder as you would normally do. I did this and came up with the same problem again. ) So after another uninstall and reinstall it works like a charm :)
But here is the catch, Idownloaded the test version of Ace's and was trying it out. Very good may i add. But the catch is that my AntiVirus software detected a virus before i Had to uninstall the game today. And low and behold the virus was the Test version of Ace's High and thus my anti virus sofware Auto delleted it and every other bar a few version update exe files. And thus also damaged the Normal Ace's High II exe file thus thing's went wonky on me.
So Skuzzy i don't know if you would like to tell Hitech and Pyro about this as i could be a simple wee tweak they and you need to do.
My Anti Virus Software is Kaspersky Internet 2010 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2010.
Iv had the software for around 6 and a half months with no problems till now with ace's.

Your anti-virus is giving false positives. Happens sometimes when they update the virus definition files. You might have to go in and tweak the settings in your anti-virus to stop the issue.

Yeh i had to allow it to let the Game through again. i thought i got rid o that when i moved away from Norton 360 :)

not sure about anyone else.
but I make a dedicated "exclusion" rules for both my Firewalls and my Anti-Virus to overlook/bypass anything to do with aces High files, aces high folders, etc....... ( includes the aceshigh.exe, the .res, .hps, etc etc etc....... file types )
I use ESET Smart Security 4.... and even when the game updates it does not bother me about "re allowing access" at all...
YMMV......

I think gyrene nailed it....... was nothing to do with Aces High, it was your anti-virus program......

Yes probally it was but with all due respect it shouldnt have done it so it may be worth while the guys checking to see if the new version they are planning doe's interfer with certain anti virus programs so that if there is any hic-ups they can let us know how to iron them out rather than design and build update after update to sort it for us !!!!!!!!
its a thought :)

There is nothing we can do about anti-virus programs corrupting the game. We continually tell everyong to shutdown anti-virus when updating, playing, or installing the game.
Of course, if you run Norton or McAfee products, they will continue to corrupt the game files, even when they are disabled.

Yeh Skuzzy like you say if we switch off and update the game its better. But remember some are afraid of that so they don't get the Polis knocking on the door and told they being arrested for Such and Such a computer crime even tho they innocent lol :lol

So does ZoneAlarm if you run Windows XP.
