As some of you know, I've emigrated to California - after a few years of getting things sorted out, saving money etc - I"m now in the US burning me big fat head in the sunshine (literally)
I'll be returning to the skies of AH once I get a new puter sorted (how can I reduce peoples k/d without being around to be my usual easy kill lol.....)
Transitting up to 29 Palms today - once I collect my guitars etc (air shipped to arrive on the same day we did).
Looking forward to providing more easy kills soon, till then, everyone stay safe and have fun
:salute

Wellcome to the Expat community finally, now you can change your location in the profile.

You moved to the stumps? :huh Didn't think anyone did that on purpose. Between the jarheads and the hippies, it's an armpit, or did they finally build a shopping mall down in Yucca Valley?
-
Wow 29 Palms huh? Hope you love the Desert
Spent many rotations to The US Army Desert Warfare Training Center(NTC), right down the waddie from you, lol.

Welcome sir, If ya ever get over to the other side of the country ( Allentown PA area ) Look me up, we'll hit the lake and do some fishing

Seriously, 29 Palms? :huh You put all this time, effort and money into coming out here, and you're next to the hottest, inhospitable, damnest piece of earth god created within our country's borders (Death Valley... not a bad place to go camping... in the middle of the winter) during the start of the really really really really really really HOT season? You sir, if they haven't already melted off and stuck to the asphalt, have balls. Too bad it wasn't a month sooner, we've been having a really cool summer overall until the past couple weeks.
I advise you to find a shady hole with a working A/C, plenty of water and an interent connection ASAP.... besides trying to gtfo of 29 Palms ASAP. Then as soon as you can take a trip to the beach and explore the nicer and cooler regions we have in the summer to cool off (the beach, the lakes, the cooler woodland mountain ranges up North).

Bruv... move out to 29 Palms or DV and you, the Queen, and the entire damn British Navy can just help yourselves to it. There's a reason WHY it IS called DEATH VALLEY.
And here Wurzel, just for you:

Thanks for the welcome chaps, it is much appreciated - for the record, I do happen to love the desert, bit of a long walk to the water though! :D
Babalonian, you owe me a new carpet, think I wet myself laughing at your contribution - the reason we moved here is we have my wifes father in reasonably close proximity, plus with the marine base, if I can land a job there (IT Nerd) I dont have to commute too far.
Bob, Mbailey, I may very well be in your area August time - still working on the details for that one - bizarrely bailey, I'll be in Allentown visiting a couple of friends - small world huh
Right, off to apply more aftersun/sunblock etc .....its a bit toasty shall we say - but very very nice at the same time.
also, found out I can actually fall off a quad bike lol......and its not the first time :lol

Oh you'll love most of the western side of our country then. With exception to sometimes some tropic weather being pushed onshore from the central pacific... and out there in the desert you get the afternoon thunderstorms fairly regularly, all our air and weather blows ashore from the north pacific up by alaska, clean crisp and cool air until it starts whipping its way further east after hitting shore. And enjoy all the lovely BLM land your heart could desire riding on out there. The BLM (Bereu of Land Management), owns I think 90% of all public virgin land in our country, the other 10% is only what the Department of Forestry and the National Parks wanted for themselves, lol.
PS - Watchout for abandoned mine shafts out there if cross-countrying, always go in pairs with some seperation... seriously.
-
white gravy= :headscratch: never have figured that one out.
White gravy is easy...it's white. In the South it's called "milk gravy" because it's basically flour, milk, black pepper and maybe some sausage or bacon grease tossed in for flavor. I like it better with ground pork sausage in it, poured over some home made buttermilk biscuits.

You sir have no idea what you're missing. Biscuits n' gravy, yum yum!
I must add though, white gravy MUST have some bacon or breakfast sausage grease used in it, chunks/bits of bacon and sausage are optional but a pluss. Mix it all together with a little extra milk making it runny, then condense it and thicken up the gravy, gets rid of any flour taste if you didn't use too much Otherwise without the pork grease it litteraly just tastes like flour and milk... yuk.
