ok guys need your heads here. a buddy of mine is trying to sell me his desktop computer and i need your input on it.
the specs are as follows
--Intel X25-V SSD 2.5" 40GB SATA II - FAST FAST Boot Drive - Put most used programs on here, they will load instantly!
--GeForce GTX 260 Core216 Factory overclocked to the speed of the GTX285 and GTX460!
--G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) - One of the best rated RAM out there!
--Intel Core i5-750 Lynnfield 2.66GHz 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Processor - Auto overclocks to 3.2ghz! Can also easily be overclocked very high, although I never felt the need for it. Very fast.
--MSI P55M-GD41 LGA 1156 Intel P55 Mobo - High quality, very good name brand. Allows for 'One second overclock' from BIOS, meaning motherboard will find the fastest overclock automatically for you.
--CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified "Best power supply manufacturer 2009 by Custom PC" - Plenty of juice left for an SLI Setup
All of this encased in a Raidmax Smilodon case, 1TB of storage, and a 25" 1080p Monitor (with 2x HDMI in w/ speakers...Hookup your XBOX 360 or PS3!) and you have a killer deal.
he is asking 1400.00 for it let me know what you all think.
i thought the PS was a little bit on the low side but thats it

I'll let the screenshot speak for itself first :

That's a price if everything was brand new TODAY.
If the machine's used, you definitely have to knock some bucks off of it for usage, and don't let him try to fool you as far as the speed of that GTX 260. It may be a darn fine card, but it isn't even close to a GTX 285.
I'd say that'd be a pretty nice machine for an even grand. For $1400 though, it's way overpriced.
Just my opinion.
Edit: If you throw a VALID licensed operating system on that machine, $1400 brand new would sound about right, but it'd have to be BRAND NEW.

Brand new unused, yes 1400$ would be fine.
6 months of wear and tear and your looking at less than 1k $ value IMO.
A year or more and I'd not pay more than 500 for it. And its probably overpriced at that.
If he's trying to sell you that computer for that price he's no buddy of yours.

thanks fellas :salute

Used that is worth about 750.00 IMHO
