...just wondering if I could expect a better improvement on FR going from an Ultra TNT2-32 meg card to a 2-32 meg card?

*RAISES HAND*
YES, TRUST ME YOU WILL (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Unless you are using a 300mhz cpu or something very slow
-
Using a P550...still think I will get improvement? (256K PC100 ram too)

Celeron 450 & TNT2 Ultra gave me ~35fps
PIII 700 & TNT2 Ultra gave about 45fps
PIII 700 & Prophet2 MX give about 60-70fps
With OC'd cpu and vid.card 80-90fps
All 1024*768 with 32bit colors

It would have major upgrade in my opinion what I've heard and seen.
Difference here is between technology how video card draws all those 3d models (more polygons = less FPS), also memory is faster in Geforces than TNT2's. (faster and higher clocked I believe)

Great, thks for all your replies, I've been sold !

Thats good to hear, I have a CL TNT2 Ultra that I'm hoping to replace with a 32MB GF2 MX
At the mo I'm getting low 40's @ 1024 most of the time and I really want to go up to 1280 res with the same or better FPS.
SYS:
Cel2 633 @ 800Mhz
256MB ram
TNT2 Ultra 32MB
40GB HD (RAID 0)

When buying GeForce card be sure you buy a retail version from a good manufacturer. There's lots of differencies between different cards in memory speeds and quality of components. Looks like Hercules/Guillemot and Leadtek cards are made of good parts thus giving better picture quality than some "NoName" cards.
My Prophet2MX came with Hyundai's 5,5ns mem (TC-55) and after I added a fan in it I oc'd it to core220/memory230 and best 3D-mark results were about 5800-5900 with P3-700 oc'd to 933, Dx7a and Nvidia's 6.34 reference drivers.
