I was checking out the town offline, and decided to crash into the Cafe. Then on the ground, I went into F3 view mode to see the remains of my aircraft, and noticed the camera went though the ground as if it wasn't a solid object.
I managed to do this by panning down while viewing in F3. I went offline again to recreate this situation, it's 0130 and I figured pictures would be better than my slurred words in text form. These shots were taken at the town of field A1 on the ndisles map.

Just curious - Anyone at HTC make a note of this?

It's been that way for as long as I can remember. As long as you don't find a hole to fall through I don't see a problem.
See also, F3 on a CV.

So there's no problem if a GV battle is raging inside town and someone decides to crash, F3, and let their buddies know if there's a tank around the next corner? Right.

Why would you want to?
You can just fly around the town and let your buddies know where the enemy is. :)

That's very clever. You're much more underhanded than I.

Must be smoke. It would obscure the view from above. Hence, the view from below would be needed.

Earlier today I bailed out over town and went into the map room, fell into a hole and was then
trapped under the town while a battle raged above me.
My pistol was registering hit sprites on an nmy M3. Never got a chance to try it on an nmy trooper.
I could see everything going on above yet could not find a way out.
I did record vid of it.

Basically comes down to layers and having to build town on a second level so the map room can be below the perceived ground level. Used to see them alot in FPS like Ghost Recon and Joint Ops. Probably a transparency issue with the texture. :salute

We can make those polygons double sided where you can't see through them.
