I am trying to find out what are the most popular online games for PC's (not Xbox, Wii, PS3 etc...). I would also like to know what ranks there are for instance in "WOW" there are the Death Knight | Druid | Hunter | Mage | Paladin | Priest | Rogue | Shaman | Warlock | Warrior, which of these is the highest rated. I understand that there are different levels but making all levels even which would be strongest to weakest.
I am looking to name some gaming PC's. For instance there will be the WOW series with the names used above.
Thanks for the input guys.

Other than AH I don't PC game enough to know what the big names are these days, but if you're looking for something to try Starcraft II drops at midnight tonight and it's gonna be pretty huge me thinks.

Thanks, but no I am looking to name some gaming PC's. For instance there will be the WOW series and the name of each system as I have about I should clarify that I guess. Thanks again for the answer.

That's actually a pretty cool idea. You should build one called The Dweeb and ship it pre loaded with AH :devil The Death Knights were the most badass you could get in WC2 and it's a sweet name in an evil sort of way.

THQ/relic is starting an online edtion for 'Company of Heroes' (COH:O) that's due to come out this fall. It's currently in closed beta.
It's suppose to be free to play, when it comes out...

I would say WOW, since it has like 25 millions players? Before WoW there was Everquest. Everquest is the father of all modern MMORPG.

On a side note, TD I'm so happy to see you back man, you'll be getting a PM in the near future I hope about a build.
Welcome back to the states Sir.

Another thought on the WoW idea, rather than a class of character how about naming them after a much sought after item, weapon, or armor?
-
EvE
KOTR 3 is coming out early next year if your a starwars fan
-
You're not going to run into any unforseen trademark or copyright issues with those names are you?
I know the Call of Duty and Medal of Honor franchises are heavily protected as is Half Life and WoW.

Sword of a Thousand Truths. WoW nerds and South Park nerds alike will love it.
-
Any well known PC game will have there names copyrighted, or you will have to get permission from them to use there names or likeness i would venture to say

It's going to be all in the naming... IE WOW has the Death Knight | Druid | Hunter | Mage | Paladin | Priest | Rogue | Shaman | Warlock | Warrior... but these are all known names used within a dictionary other then a Death Knight. As long as I am not calling it the WOW Death Knight _____ System I am ok so says my attorney. Additionally I am not not selling gaming software, so I am not competing with any of these companies.

Agreed, I could not use World of Warcraft but using WOW would be allowed since this is a word and not a title.

Beer Pong

Big Balls - medium gamer
Monster Balls - high end gamer
Add Wet for a water cooled machine.

Roll back into the past a bit TD.
Doom was the best in its day.
Quake took it to another level
If your aiming these systems for pilots, then you need to look at aircraft names.
"the Hawg"
"Run Hun"
"Zeke"
"Mustang"
"Yak Attack"
Actually some of those are just funky enough they might go over like gangbusters.
-
You could also use aspects of WoW's roles, like The Tank | The Dungeoneer | The Raider. I don't know much about MMORPGs to name any other roles.
-
Starcraft 2
MW2
-
Delta Force! That game was so much fun.
It ended up being mostly cheaters and hackers though so "bye bye".

years ago there used to be a live headcount and weekly rankings of all the online games at www.csports.net (cybersports network) but its just a placeholder page now. I've had a good look for this stuff before, havent found a new source yet though :(

Game Servers
Counter Strike 1.6 32279
Counter Strike Source 17182
Call of Duty 4 10857
Battlefield Bad Company 2 7397
Ventrilo (??) 6142
TeamSpeak 3 (??) 4463
