Title: Spit V challenge!
Post by: mechanic on July 27, 2010, 09:50:36 AM
The challenge is to fly a Spitfire MkV through the square fighter hanger door. Either way through does not matter.

What is important is that your wings are perfectly horizontal or within 1 degree. Diagonal passes do not count as this widens the gap. Film the attempts and take a screenshot to confirm it.
 :airplane:

As you can see it is a very tight fit when the wings are level. If anyone does it inverted with wings horizontal they win outright :)

Here is a 30 second .ahf film also incase you suspect trickery :D   Hanger Pass (http://www.freeroleentertainment.com/hanger_pass.ahf)

good luck and dont give up easy if you expect to succede in this noble challenge!

Salute

Almost did it perfectly, a little bit of my wing hit the hanger door but I didn't take damage. :D

One of the hangars has a vertical opening, lets see some knife edge passes.

Do it in a Spitfire that fights you, do it in a Spitfire Mk XIV at full throttle.

hows does the wingspan match up to the MkV karnak? There is about 16 inches spare on the mkV.

Now we just need a clandestine acronym, a snappy logo, and we're in business.  :devil

It has exactly the same wingspan.  The only Spitfire in AH with a different wingspan is the Mk XVI and that is due to the tips being clipped.

Ok, so next a spit 14 at 300mph or more.  Anyone?

LOL Soulyss.

Each Spitfire has a 36' 10" wingspan but the Mk.XVI which is around.. 31' 1" I think. So yea any Spitfire or Seafire will do.
