Last night every time I hit F-12 (range vox) I was discoed. :cry Several others responded and said they had similar problems. Is there a fix yet? Have an older dell dual core processor but this is the only problem with the new patch I've had.
-
Quax is having this problem also. Every time he speaks on vox channel he discos :headscratch:

I guess their work on an instant boot for the high pitched squeaker still needs a little more tweaking.

Still have the Problem after latest update. I hit either vox "T" or F-12 (Range) automatic shut down of program. Offline same problem. Switched range from F-12 to another button same result. Tested sound on computer no problem.

My PC is old as your but it has a damned keyboard!
Each function key does something - open browser, quit PC, make a coffee, etc.
When i play AH in such way and I press a function key then something crazy can happen - one time, in the middle of a
furball It opened browser. Bad thing!
To avoid this, I deselect this behaviour pushing a key on the keyboard before to play AH.
:salute

Did you check the devices the game is using for VOX in the Options->Preferences->Game Sounds panel? Even if the correct one is selected, try re-selecting it.

I'll try it tonight skuzzy and let you know. I was checking all the New Vox settings but didn't change any yet.
I even reinstalled game but same result. On work PC game runs fine. (2003 Dell) Must be setting on my home PC.
Thanks

Well I think I figured out my vox problem. The sound system on my pc has a problem. Seems that a virus corrupted a sound file. My mic won't work on my pc and my volume controls disappeared when my security program quarantined it. Then like a dummy I deleted file and tried a system restore and now my pc is unusable with a blue screen unless I operate in safe mode.
Going to be a long weekend sorting this out. :cry
Update: Fixed! Reinstalled windows service pack 3 and it fixed my drivers. Set and tested mic in sound controls, OK
Now to test the mic in AH..........................I t works!
Thanks Skuzzy for the clue, the device the game was trying to use was not correct and now I see my audio device in the box.
I'm on the air again. Whew! :airplane:

It sounds like Slate and I have a similar computer.
I can get the logitech headset to work in Windows but not in AH. When I press T, there is no tunable beep but I can hear the sound effects lower. The rest of the time , 50%, AH locks up. It also locks up if I push F12.
I've read & reread everything I can about setting up a mic nad gone through the process over and over again but nothing works. I'm using XP Pro on a Dell 400 w/ 1G ram.

Update
Now I can get the mic to work in the TA. I do a radio check by using the dot command .radio 5 (game name) and it works. I get the beep and can hear myself.
I go to an arena and whether I use T or F12 I get an instant freeze.
I emailed Skuzzy, he said, "If it works in one arena, but not another, then it is usually due to ports being blocked by a firewall or anti-xxx program, or it is due to resource starvation."
I turn off my firewall when I go online and I've deleted the McAfee from my system.
That only leaves me with "resource starvation".
Does that mean I need more ram?
Also I got a system message that said to switch from UPD to TCP.
I checked and I think I got that done but I'm not sure. I'm not very computer literate.

Are you using a router? If so which one? Have you weeded out the unneeded processes and services? Which OS are you using?
-
My OS is XP Pro on a Dell XP 400 w/ I gig RAM. As whether or not I'm using a router I don't know. A computer is a lot like a car to me. I can drive the car but no practically nothing about troubleshooting or tuning them up.
