Title: Typhoon Drop Tanks
Post by: Walrus on April 08, 2000, 07:56:00 AM
In short, I asked online why no tanks and was told post a photo of a Tiffie with tanks and HTC would take note.
Sadly I don't have a scanner so I can't post the image, but I have a book called  Aviation - An Illustrated History, by Christopher Chant, which shows armourers fitting out a Typhoon. It has under the right wing a drop tank and 2 rockets. I dont know the size of the tank but it looks pretty big. i have read that the Tiffie could carry either 2x45 or 2x90 imp gal tanks.
The second point is why no 1000lb bombs on the Typhoon. These were carried operationally from late 44 on. Do I have to search for a picture of these as well?
To end on a more positive note, I would like to say I am delighted with 1.02 in almost every respect.

Walrus I'll look for photos.  If I find anything I'll post it in the Aircraft forum.

Either Superfly didn't get the external tanks completed or I just didn't put them in.  The lack of 1000lb bombs is a typo.  There are two groups of 500lbers available and the second group was supposed to be 1000lbers.

Thank you, it's nice to find a company that listens.
Will there be the option to have 2 tanks and 4 rockets, as the photo shows?

Punt!

Thanks for the quick fix on the 1000 lb bombs Pyro.  I have put them to good use.   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
