Title: Question about Saitek
Post by: ~Pyroman~ on November 29, 2001, 09:56:00 AM
Let me thank you in advance first.

This is in regards to the X-45

1.  Is there a Profile preloaded in the software for Aces high?

2.  If you use the SGE to preprogram the buttons will it conflict with the Aces High Keymapper?

3.  Can you use the SGE to make the Roger Wilco work off the joystick?

4.  Could someone private message me a good configuration that they use with this joystick or the X-36 please.

4. yes, not a fancy one but a good start. I had to make a new one for the X45 as my X36 profile wouldn't convert. Sending you my X36 now as that is all I have at work.

Actually guys I went to order my computer yesterday and my wife came with me.

Well the lady who is ordering it said that she recommended CH products.  I said that it was too expensive.  Well my wife said go ahead and get a CH setup.  AFter nearly fainting I ordered:

1.  CH CombatStick
2.  Pro Pedals
3.  Also the Throttle.

All of them are USB.  NOt a bad deal eh?  What makes me nervous though is I really don't know alot about these products.  I just pray they work with AH.

So do they???

They should work just fine. Only thing I've heard is that some guys have best luck if they recalibrate every time they log in.

Which actually isn't bad advise for all of us.  :)

I have just got the X45 after my X36 developed terminal flop (runs in the family  )

I can't seem to get the rudder rocker to work in banded mode with my rudder pedals interfaced through Ron Hunt's X36 pedals utility.

I set up the rocker bands in SGE, go through the Remove X45/NukeUSB/Clickit and install the rudders as #2 having amended the .inf file to use Rons little utility (not as complex as it sounds to those who wonder what the hell I am talking about), all the usual stuff without problem and the rudder work ok. BUT instead of the rocker continuing to operate the banded key commands, the Rudder does it ! Very confusing and I've had to scrub the band commands for now.

So, does anyone know how I keep the X45 rocker operating the band commands with the rudder installed?

Would appreciate any help - e-mail if preferred is klem@ntlworld.com

Yes I have rocker as aileron trim (banded) and USB Pro PEds but do not use a third party driver for anything to do with the X45 hots/CH Pro Ped combo.

here is my basic X45 profile for anyone looking for one:

Klem;

I see you edited the ".inf" file and removed the ",x36pdls.sys" from the lower filters line, (correct?),  But did you remember to rename, or remove the driver? (e.g: "\windows\system32\drivers\x36pdls.sys")

Hope that helps ya.

I edited the X45 .inf file to add the x36pdls.sys under 'lowerfilters' - just as for X36 - as that is the only x__pdls.sys file I have.

I assumed that .sys file would be ok for X45

Does anyone still have Eaglers Profile?  I need it for my X45.  I went to his link but it doesn't work.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I've read that with CH gear, you'll want to purchase a powered USB hub (USB hub that plugs into the wall for its power, instead of drawing power off of the computer's power supply).  Apparently the slight voltage regulations from the computer causes the CH stuff to do goofy things.

I personally use an X52, and USB surround sound headphones.  I used to get a lot of static on my headphones and had to constantly type ".resetv" from within AH to clear it out.. for another 5 minutes or so.  Then I moved my joystick to a powered USB hub (Headphones still plug into the computer) as I heard it's better for it... and the static went away completely.

Wow Eagler you're still around!  Thanks man and great to see you again!

Do you have the rudder set up on the rocker bar?  I read in one of your other posts that's your aileron?

See I have a full CH set up, but I'm giving my X45 to a buddy and I thought i'd just give him that profile.

I was curious how you have the buttons set so I can explain it to him, being he's new to the game!  He doesn't have rudder pedals though.  So he'll have to use the rocker.

Any help would be appreciated!

It is setup for peds with the rocker being aileron trim
I suggest ditching the profile and doing all the setup inside AH.

Ok I'll give that a shot.

I was mostly after setting up the bands for it that's why I wanted the profile but that's cool we'll figure it out :)

in AH, set the trims to the rotors & calibrate - it works better than banding
