This aircraft never flew, but is historically and technically very interesting.

Nice picture and thanks. I have been trying to come up with my next build for a rc plane and now I think I have it. :aok

Maybe there is a reason why it never flew :noid

The Germans didn't want the Messeschmitt speed record broken?

Hm. I'm not sure an 8 cylinder engine could have powered this craft..

It had 16 cylinders. Two Bugatti Type 50B, 450 hp at 4500 rpm.

Dude, that is one sexy plane!!!

That's a wicked bird! Gotta love Bugatti.

I enjoy reading up on some of the aircraft advances during the 1930's and 40's. There were some pretty crazy designs out there. I find it interesting how many aircraft today have inherited some features of aircraft designs from this era. Forward-swept wings, counter-rotating props, bubble canopy, and the list goes on.

Where is that sexy bird hanging? I would love to see it up close.

WOW that thing is sexy :O hmm i wonder what kind of weapons they would have put on that bird.

Well if you look at the cut away, there is very little room for anything, and with the counter rotating props it would be very hard to put center line guns on it, even in blisters. Might have made for one awesome scout plane tho.
Dang it is sleek and sexy.
