Title: HTC does not like European players
Post by: Kazan_HB on August 08, 2010, 09:15:54 AM
I have a few free hours after work. From 20:00 to 23:00 CET, but there is a limit of players on the Orange Arena.
Another arena is about 100 players. Where I have to fly 30 minutes to see any fight... :(

Come on Europe.....

I can help.  Tell everybody you know that I mock Europeans and think Futball is a sport full of pansies in shorts.

okay I don't really on either count but you can USE it to bring more folks on so I have entertainment when I'm suffering from insomnia :)

I used a tranlator as well so I hope I'm not saying anything truly offensive.

Okay ICH nicht wirklich auf entweder zählen aber Sie können es verwenden, um mehr Leuten auf so habe ich Unterhaltung wenn ICH BIN leiden an schlaflosigkeit :D

Sometimes I have the same problem. Just log in the blue arena a few times. That might raise the players-level of the orange arena.

Now in German:

Kazan_HB
Das Problem hab ich auch manchmal. Ich log mich dann in der anderen arena ein paar mal ein, und so nach dem fünften oder sexten Mal, kann ich in die orangene arena wechseln. Zumindest ging das so vor 6 Wochen...

This is far from being true for us European players. It can take hours after caps kick in at our primetime until they start to move again.

And for a primetime US player, the introduction of caps has changed the arena size from an "unhealthy" number like 500 players to a healthy one of maybe 250 players...

For us it has changed from 200 to ... about 30-60 If you come home after 7 PM ;)

I have play alone side with a few English and one Ireland player.  And text chat with two to three from Belgium and Germany.  Then there are three in the southwest Pacific (Australia and New Z eland).  It dose seem that not a lot of players that lives in North America are ever on.

If hitech put the caps on later in the day you will have another 4-5 hours worth of people logging into orange and when they take effect it would take hours instead of the 30-60 minutes that it does now to balance out.

you'll see crazier numbers like   300/100     50/150.   but then you will go to sleep happy and the majority of US players when they logon will be like   :furious.

Honestly it isn't such a big deal and I can usually get into either arena with a bit of luck.

I would really appreciate if the arena cap would not snap in at 19:00 CET / 18:00 GMT.
Thats the time west european workers come online after work - hence this thread.

You look at caps like orange 150/100 and blue 20/150 when i usually would start to play.
That situation stays usually for 30 - 60 minutes. DA mostly populated by 5 - 10 guys.

Not much of a fight...

I rather have a cap snap at 20:00 CET or even 21:00 CET.

Is there any possibility to put the cap one hour or two back? Would be grateful  :)

Hi,

I have seen this topic complained about so much.

I never wait more than 10 minutes to get into an arena of choice unless it is the Scenario arena and it is locked.

Just go to another arena; go in; immediately exit out back to the arena index.  Still cannot get in?  Try another arena; go in; immediately exit out.  Can't get in?  Repeat ad nauseum!  Eventually, much like waiting in line for chow, somebody is going to leave and a space open up.

That is probably why "host connection lost" is so popular to force guys to leave.  (Just kidding about the host lost thing.)

That's what I do.  I play wee hours NY time midnight to dawn, sometimes.  I just wake-up sometimes, can't sleep.  Either watch a movie or play this game.

Other thing you could do, though a bit expensive, is once in the game, end of the night, go park in a hanger and leave the game on.  Don't turn off you pc or put it in sleep mode.  Just turn monitor off.

I had a friend from Berlin.  He said English was his second language after WWII.  Bet you know English better than most Americans know Spanish.

I have a few free hours after work. From 20:00 to 23:00 CET, but there is a limit of players on the Orange Arena.

How many Europeans can't get into the full arena when caps start?  Can't be more than one or two.  Otherwise they would all go to the open arena and the numbers would increase quickly.

So, we can infer that less than 10 Europeans attempt to play at 1900 local Euro time.

 :D

 :headscratch: :rofl

Starting the Arena cap after midnight CET on weekdays would make sence. Rarely do you see more then 300 players online during "CET Prime". Imho prime CET hours would benefit from having one arena around 250 players instead of the normal 150 with cap and 100.

It be interesting to see if HTC can have a German, French, Japanese and Dutch language commercials in their respective countries to recruit European players.  You almost have a sense the European players stumble onto this game by accident.
