I have a Saitek cyborg, and I don't like how hard it is to move it. Is there a way to change the amount of force needed to maneuver the joystick? Right now it is pretty stiff and it screws with my aim pretty badly.

RTFM...there is a spring tension adjustment on the bottom of the stick, just have to figure out which way to turn it.

The only thing I can see is the locking mechanism that keeps the stick together

Which specific model do you have? Since there are several models, it would help to know exactly which one you're dealing with.

I have the Saitek cyborg X. I would read the manual but I have a feeling that is long gone.

Thanks! But I don't see anything about how I can adjust the spring in that, I don't even think it is possible.

unfortunately that is one drawback to the cyborg, along with not enough buttons for my liking.

you could try some pull ties on the spring, compressing 2 or 3 rings together, I saw this done on a x52 pro which has a stiff spring

Pull ties? you wouldn't happen to have an example of using them on the spring would you?

AKA zip ties or wire ties (http://contentinfo.autozone.com/znetcs/product-info/en/US/drm/83901/image/4/)

Yes, I know what they look like. I was asking how would I be able to do what he said. I can't picture it in my mind very well.

I think what they are saying is to wrap the wiretie around a spring loop or two like the red circles in the picture and pull them tight. This will take some of the tension out of the spring. You may have to experiment with placement and number of ties to get the feel you want with out having the stick tipping one way or the other.
Good luck!

^^ correct, I think the website where I saw this has shut down as I can't find it now

Thank you fellas. I'm gonna go out and buy some zip ties.

You can turn the black knob( what spring sits on) under the spring clockwise/ counterclockwise to adjust tension.

That's it!!! The thin black ring under the spring turns...totally forgot about that.

You have peaked my interest. However, I have been staring at this joystick for 20 minutes and I do not see this knob. I don't suppose you have a picture?

Clone, look at the representative picture. See the black circular thing that the spring sits on? Daading, lol

Are you sure it's the black part or the silver thing right under the stick that looks like a wheel that has groves to be turned. I never had this stick but that would be my guess. It looks like it was made to be turned really don't see anything at bottom.

The silver ring at the top of the spring, right under the grip is the locking ring. If you look closely at the very bottom of the spring, it's sitting on a solid black piece, that piece rotates to adjust spring tension.

Either I found what you guys are talking about and fixed it, or I just think I fixed it. Either way, I am aiming better now, so thanks everyone. :)
