Title: PPGA & FCPGA Slotket
Post by: jihad on June 03, 2001, 03:59:00 PM
Are the PPGA and FCPGA pins the same?

I'm considering a Celeron 633 to replace my worn out 466 CPU - do I need a new Slotket?

It depends on your motherboard jihad.  What MB do you have?  The newer celerons (above 500 Mhz) are based on the Coppermine core.  As a result they require lower voltages than the older celerons did.  Some motherboards cannot do this.  The work around is a slotket card that has it's on voltage regulator.  (Powerleap makes one that does just that.)

Regardless though, you will need a slotket adapter card.
