Heres the article, I know this happened a long time ago. I just realized that ive flown in this plane before, and actually asked the about the incident when the subject of carb-ice came up after we got back from flying today. Turns out it was one of the flight instructors at my flight school, and the owner of the airport (Its a private airstrip) Saw the plane coming in when he was on his way to pilates class. I asked Jordan, the pilot what happened and he told me he didnt have enough altitude to attempt an engine restart, so he landed on I10!
Just thought i'd share this with you guys, it renewed my interest in the subject.

That kind of stuff happens more often than you'd think. The local mall by my old airport in NJ.
