Title: Does anyone care anymore?
Post by: vafiii on August 12, 2010, 01:22:17 PM
The other day I went to Bruegger's for my morning coffee and bagel. I ordered a honey oat bagel with butter. They said, "We're all out of honey oat." I said, "Gimme a pumpernickle instead." They said, "Sorry, but we're very busy today. We're all out of pumpernickle." After settling for a plain bagel I moved to the coffee counter and ordered a large decaf. "Sorry sir, but we just ran out of decaf. Would you like to wait until we brew another pot?" My question is this. What would it take for someone to notice that the red light on the decaf pot was lit indicating the pot was almost empty? Or someone taking a little initiative and making more honey oat bagels before they run out? This was 8:30 in the morning mind you. Peak business hours. Two days later I went to Subway for lunch. I said, "I'll have a veggie delight on whole wheat bread." "Sorry sir, we're all out of whole wheat. It should be ready in a half hour if you want to come back?" I settled for whatever bread they had and rushed home to meet the technician from my local cable company as they were installing a new 20 meg modem for my computer. The install took only a few minutes (the so called technician basically unplugged the old modem and plugged the new one in) and then he ran a test. He said excitedly, "Look, your getting almost 16 megs!" I said, "Wait a minute? I thought this was a 20 meg modem?" He said, "tttt, nobody gets 20 megs. Most people get 15 megs if their lucky." I said, "But I'm paying extra for the 20 meg modem." He said, "I can put your old 15 meg modem back in if you'd like? It's cheaper." "Will I get 15 megs out of it," I stupidly asked. " He said, "In order to get 15 megs you need the 20 meg modem." I said, "oh, that makes sense." Then he asked to use my bathroom, took a nasty dump and left. Does anyone care anymore?

He probably wouldn't have needed to use your bathroom if he hadn't eaten so many of those damn honey oat bagels.

OP service is getting baaaaaad.  A month back I paid my cable provider to send a tech out specifically to move my boxes around.  First tech showed up and essentially didn't want to go up into the attic so I sent him away.  Next day the other tech shows up, starts working SLOWLY so Squid and I wound up helping him pull the cable.  I paid for them to come out because I didn't want to be in the attic in June either but *shrug*.  Last week I realized that he didn't hook the cable box in my room up (I don't watch a lot of TV anymore) and the dang box is broken  :furious

Good points and you are not alone.

If you want to better understand what is happening throughout our civilization I would suggest reading the book Atlas Shrugged. As you are reading it see if you can see correllations to what is going on around you and around the world. IMHO we are currently living within the pages of this book.

Later,

 LOL the bagels mad:)

I went to KFC the other night and ordered to drumsticks and a breat with the mashed etc. I made a point to the cashier exactly what I wanted because last time they did it wrong. I also said Id like an extra biscuit.

When I get my food I look in the bag. I notice the guy looking at me and he suddenly "acts" like he messed up. He says " What did I give you?"
I said " I wanted 2 legs and a breast"
He says " Ohh..we dont have legs, I gave you 2 breast and a wing"
Thinking it was better than 1 breast and 2 wings I said "Oh thats ok thanks."
I hear him say to his co-worker "Ya, just give me chicken..any will do" (along those lines) laughing.

I was fine with the outcome, but wouldnt most people say something first rather than just assuming whatever they give ya will do?

I ate the honey oat bagels. The technician must have had hard boiled eggs and whiskey from the smell of it.

Short answer is - nope, nobody cares anymore. And in the U.S. they aren't required to anymore.

Charter never has gotten my VOD working properly. It doesn't recognize I should have HBO and Cinemax On-Demand, and won't play anything at all.

Ive been having a wonderful two weeks.

Last week,

Rear ended on the highway. Exchange info with driver and police show up and create police report. Cop lets us go home. Get in my house to receive phone call from trooper so and so saying Im being charged with fleeing the scene of the accident and I need to return immediately. After having a small heart attack I return to the scene to be torn a new one by this new police officer. The whole time he will not let me shown him the police report that I had in hand that was no older then 20 minutes old.

Pay off a speeding ticket I received about 2 weeks earlier. 75 in a 60. If your from VA and know the 64 you know thats almost standing still compared to most drivers. Oh well I was wrong. Pay my fine online, about two hundred dollars. Receive phone call a few days later from the state stating I owe another 100 because I plead guilty by default and hit me with a reckless driving charge. I ask the lady why I wasnt told of this when I received my fine or when I was going to pay my fine off. She said they  forgot to update their system until that day.

This week,

Ran over a earring today, no diamonds in it tho sadly, and leaves a small pinhole in my tire. After the spit check I confirm it went all the way through. So I throw my donut on and call the dealer when I get to work. I ask them if they could repair my tire. The lady says yes of course. I then ask if I can drop it off in the morning. She says, well since you took it off yourself we wont touch it. I ask why, she says because I might have punctured the tire myself when I took it off. Failing to realize why I would poke a hole in my own tire on purpose and then want to pay for it to be fixed because Im rich we get no where in the next 3 minutes of conversation. I ask her if they could put a new tire on it. She says yes. This dumbfounds me more as to why they wont repair a hole but will replace a whole tire. At this point I give up and ask her how much for a new tire. She says $300 plus labor. After taking a minute to go and check my drawers. I ask her why so much, my tires are not that special, she says because I took the wheel off myself. This still confuses me but I realize this is about making money off me. Call Kramer Tire. $28.00 for repair and they'll be done in a half hour and put wheel back on for me so I can drive to work.

Went to McDonalds the other day. Running late for work so this was a last ditch effort for food for the day. Ordered 6 cheeseburgers in the drive through. Pull into a parking spot to check quick because the bag dosnt feel right. I find a empty bun, a wrapper with ketchup in it, a small fry half empty, and 3 chicken nuggets in the bottom. I walk inside still keeping my cool and talk to the kid at the counter. He dosnt seem to see a problem... So I ask to see his manager. The Manager starts giving me attitude for me being so demanding. I will cut this story short also. Only because their were children present at the time. The only thing that kept that event from turning into breaking news on CNN. I got my whole $6 back and bought a years supply of ramen noodles with it.

Its been a lovely month for me.

I work in a Tire Kingdom, my goal everyday is to have each customer leave happy and satisfied. Balancing that with a retail company's demands as a salesperson is hard, if not impossible. Yet everyday I try to treat people in such a way that I can feel good about our interaction. Anyone who comes to my store and interacts with me on a daily basis can clearly see that I do care. Its hard though, at times the actions of people around me feel like I am the only one. Although no one I work with would defraud a customer they don't care as much as I would hope. The sense of urgency and commitment to the customers needs lacks what I personally feel should be warranted.

In short there are some who still care and will continue to do so.....the trick is finding them and giving them your business as a reward.

HOLY SNIKEYS blue

For the second time this week I'm forced to wonder what ancestor of yours defiled a sacred temple?

Anybody up for a Lanc mission over Mickey D's with a little suppression drops on the dealership?   We can make it a night raid so collateral damage is limited.  :D

Or, perhaps, the wrong ones.

You could be neck deep in virgins right now if they'd turned left instead of right.    :devil

Umm, I dealt with that "temple" for a year up close and personal. I want nothing to do with them or their kind.

I still havnt had my beer yet.

"Rick, have you ever heard the expression 'The customer is always right'?"

"Yeah."

"Yeah well,...here I am: the customer."

"That's not our policy. You have to order something from the lunch menu."

"I don't want lunch, I want breakfast."

"Yeah, well hey..I'm really sorry."

"Yeah, well hey...I'm really sorry TOO!".......

I never go back to a place that has giving me bad cistmer service.  Ask B of A when the overcharged me 10 back in the 80's or McDonald's when they messed up my order, again.  Be polite but expect customer service or I don't go back.  And that waiter/waitress better give me good customer service her tip depends in me , and if the food is crappy I always let them know and I do send it back, but won't reorder.  If I want bad food I have a gf and ug I wanted to be treated like crap I can always call my ex wife.
