Tomorrow (Friday) is the anniversary of Adlertag (Eagle Day) in the Battle of Britain.
Please join us to commemorate the Battle of Britain, specifically Adlertag or "Eagle Day", which took place on August 13, 1940 and which was the start of the Luftwaffe's attacks against the RAF over British soil.
All are welcome to play.
Runs on August 13 in Special Events II Arena at:
-- 2 pm Eastern Time (7 pm UK time)
-- and at 8:30 pm Eastern Time
"What General Weygand called the Battle of France is over. I expect that the Battle of Britain is about to begin. Upon this battle depends the survival of Christian civilization. Upon it depends our own British life, and the long continuity of our institutions and our Empire. The whole fury and might of the enemy must very soon be turned on us. Hitler knows that he will have to break us in this Island or lose the war. If we can stand up to him, all Europe may be free and the life of the world may move forward into broad, sunlit uplands. But if we fail, then the whole world, including the United States, including all that we have known and cared for, will sink into the abyss of a new Dark Age made more sinister, and perhaps more protracted, by the lights of perverted science. Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duties, and so bear ourselves that, if the British Empire and its Commonwealth last for a thousand years, men will still say, 'This was their finest hour.'" -- Winston Churchill, June 18, 1940.

It is timed so that it does not overlap with either FSO or Friday KOTH.
You can play in all of them! :aok

Even insomniacs have to sleep sometimes. Sounds like a good time sir. GENTS if you've never flown one and aren't otherwise committed I highly recommend giving this a shot. You'll have a good time, meet people you've never known, and have a lot of fun if you let yourself. Brooke if I can make it will <S> just pick me a side and a ride if you see me wandering around lost as usual :)

Not to worry -- every month we run a This Day in WWII event, picking a battle of major importance to commemorate on its anniversary. The next one is Battle of Milne Bay coming up September 7.
Since it's on a weekday, I'll run two time slots.
This one, we have to run one time slot at a time that works for Australians, since it's the Battle of Milne Bay.
