I ran 3dmark2001 (finally) and i was looking in the setup are and it said that my memory is running at 66mhz insted of 100
I have PC-133 eme so whats the deal?
T-Bird 800
FIC SD-11 MB

Goto BIOS at startup. Search thru there. It usually defaults to the slowest speed for safety. With most BIOS you can adjust the speed of your ram up. You will have to change this anytime you upgrade BIOS versions also. I have pc133 mem and my ASUS was clocked for 100 when I bought it.

checked in bios..there is NO option to do anything with the memory..there are timing settings but they are is cycles ???
ALSO NOTE: i tested it with SANDRA and it says its running at 100MHZ..
Maby 3dmark2001 is wrong ???
still testing.
BTW i dont ahve AWARD bios, I have AMIBIOS.

Wobble, see also the overclocking thread. I looked at the fica site (http://www.fica.com/main/main.stm) to see if they had a manual to download, but the file was corrupt. You should be able to get one from them by dropping a note to support.
If you can get ahold of a manual, it should have detailed BOIS settings as well as any manual jumpers that might affect you. I'm not familiar with AMIBIOS but in my version of AWARD Bios both FSB frequency and RAM frequency are under the Frequency/Voltage Control heading.

FIC has the most ANNOYING support system, in order to "drop them a line", You must:
list PCB number
Ram module manufacturer
Ram chipsent manufacturer
ALL pci cards and their manufacturers.
Mini port ??
Bus mastering
VxD
THEN you can ask your question.
I dont know my ram chipset manufacturer, so i leve the field blank, gues what!? it wont let me send the question.
and thats the only way you can do it..??
I know whats important..and thats that i have a stick of PC-133 ram running at 66mhz for no damn reason and there is no way in my bios to change it!
EDIT:
Oh wait it gets better, i call the "North American" tech support number (LONG DISTANCE), and everything is in such broken english "thick asian accent" that i have to go through the menue 3 times to figure out the what they were saying, finally i navigate to the motherboard tech support area and then i sit ON HOLD for 15 miniutes, finally the toejamTY music stopes and I feel releaved...then i get another message that i could hardley understand saying that all techs are with consumers, please call back later CLICK.
ugghh.
What I need to know is if I can chang the speed through the "cycles" settings in the BIOS, thats the only option regarding memory I have.

Just drop them a note informing them that ftp://ftp.fica.com/manuals/motherboards/sd11/sd11_a3_sh.zip is corrupt. If they can't send you one they should at least be able to correct their website.
-
thats just if Fatty I CANT, they dont have any availabel tech support e-mail, only the screwball way i mentioned before. There is no way to just send them an e-mail, the only mail address they give is sales.

Heh, I didn't look that close, they don't have a webmaster or anything? At that rate I think the slot-A kx133s are going for really cheap now, of course if you were going thru the trouble of a new MB might as well get a new CPU too (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Easy fix. First, go out and buy a decent motherboard. Then, remove that piece of filth you currently have as a motherboard and place it in the garbage where it belongs. If you have any built up frustration (which I'm pretty sure you have), feel free to take it out on the FIC motherboard with a hammer or other blunt object...preferrably after you've removed it from your system.

3DMark is wrong. If Sandra says it's running 100 Mhz, it's running 100 Mhz.
With that chip, if you haven't OC'd it or screwed with it, your RAM is running 100 Mhz. RAM speed is going to be based off of FSB speed, which is 100 Mhz DDR for that chip.
Don't sweat it.
And BTW... FIC boards SUCK. I only buy Asus or Abit, mainly because they have large communities built up around their boards on the net that can provide you with lots of valuable support.

CC Wobble just ignore the memory runnin at 66mhz. Its just 3dmark misreporting. When I went from 6.50 to 11.00 drivers for my MX 3dmark said I had 0 mb of vidram, where as with 6.50 it showed the correct amount of 32mb. Tho my score went up from 1310 to 1448 with the 11.00 drivers.
