I'm tired of clicking on this thing when I leave in a hurry. Why does that even have to be on the clip board when you enter a map? I can see it being on the sign in page, but not when in an arena. Please move it at at least away from the quit button.

:huh
So rather than have you slow down a few tenths of a second to click the correct buttons, rewrite programming and change a set-up that has been around for years??? :huh
:rofl :rofl :rofl :O :O :salute :bolt:

Yeah. Because if I am in a hurry, I don't have time to slow down. I suppose I can always alt-f4 out, but always assumed that is harmful if you do it to many times.

And I am no expert at code, but this seems like a simple move. Am I the only one that ever accidentally clicks on it?

Man, if you're in that much of a hurry to quit that the extra 1 second will ruin your day, something's wrong...
-
Apparently so.

What should I do?

What should I do?
Get a high resolution laser mouse with a good quality gaming mousepad...then before clicking the mouse, make sure the pointer is on the right spot.

alt f4
Am I wrong or isn't that bad to do?

If it was bad, would Microsoft have given us the ability to do it? :noid

YES...we're talking Microsoft here, remember Windows ME and Vista... :joystick: If it were Linux it would be a different story. :D

I'm just thinking that it would be bad because I relate it to shutting a computer off abruptly. I guess there really isn't anything to lose in Aces High 2 though, so Alt-F4 it is.

If you are in the tower, <ALT><F4> is a perfectly fine way to exit. We do it all the time, around here.

Clone you aren't the only one who has been annoyed by accidentally clicking that link but *shrug*

Ah-ha, that explains all of the issues!! :furious :bolt:

Alt-F4 isn't a "super uber process killswitch," but just the same as clicking the red X on a regular windowed program. Aces High doesn't just die, it enters the same closing sequence as when you click Quit on the splash screen. The only differences being that is saves your currently recording film and, if you're in the middle of a sortie, "crashes" you (not program wise; as in, "You have crashed," adds a crash to your score page, makes the Scenario logs look funny if you're in a ship gun...).
I remember waaay back in Aces High I, someone claimed that using Alt-F4 corrupted your textures and cache. In the however many years I've been playing, I've had to clear my cache twice, and that's easily attributed to other causes.

Windows Key even?
