The search bar is your friend.

It carries an insignificant bomb load at a relatively low speed with limited range. That is why it has been "neglected".

a MUCH more AH MA suited German bomber would be the Heinkel 177.

Here is a thread in which I compared the two aircraft in detail:

While the He-177 may see more use in the MA, the reason why we need the He-111 is for its use in scenarios and FSOs. Currently, we have Spit1s and Hurri1s trying to chase down the speed demon Ju88s in the early war BoB setup. If you have ever flown Spits or Hurris in the early war matchups, you will understand why the He-111 is a much more appropriate wish.

I haven't ever seen the 177 in any movie clips, so why all the exposure for the 111, shear numbers.

How many films have you seen with 262's in them? How bout 163's? TA-152's? Hm. How odd. All three of these seem to already be in the game.

As many players do not fly in special events, and those that do might sepnd only a few hours a week in them, I think most would rather have the HTC team devote their time and our recources towards something that might see more use.

The HE-177 was barely used compared to the HE-111 and Do-217.

BrownBaron needs to stop looking at things from just the LW arena perspective. There are other things going on where early/mid war German bombers would get used.

I'm looking at it from a LW perspective because that is where most players spend their time, and where a plane like the Heinkel 111 is terriblely ill suited to.

Actually, there are very many people who fly in special events. There have been as much as 600-800 people participating in FSOs in any one given Friday night. Scenarios are also quite popular, with numbers in the 300-400s, as well as Snapshots, which also numbers in the 200-300s.

Does it matter how much use it gets in the MAs? What about the Early War and Mid War arenas? There are plenty of people who fly in there on a weekly basis, myself included. The He-111 will see a lot of use. Especially in special events, scenarios, and FSOs. Not to mention it would be a good bomber to rack up perks in the MAs.

Like what? He-111 fits the bill just fine.

Sooo...according to your estimation there is no use for the P-40B/E, Spit1, Hurricane1, 109E-4, A6M2, i-16 since they are ill suited for the LW arenas. Yet surprisingly they do get used.

VR,

it may be ill suited, but its a beautiful ill suited plane......  It was widely used in every German air campaign....I would also like to see the JU-52 for an axis troop transport/resupply plane.....  but hey, that is strictly my opinion.

The planes you mentioned are all slow tight turning planes, which is what many players like to fly. I can't recall the last time I saw any of those planes in the MA.

Just trying to offer my 2 cents, gentleman, no need to get our panties in a wad,

I figured you would go with the turning thing...the P-40s do not turn well at all. They are just slow.  :neener:

Relative to what I fly, they are turny.

Sounds plausible, however I look for those old clips, so I've seen a few, except the TA.  :salute Not arguing. I'm not a serious WWII trivia type, but I do enjoy it.

You obviously dont fly much. When ENY goes high (and for bish this happens every day) slow flying tight turning planes are all you can get and then there are the missions where everyone flies the same ride. My favorite sortie was when all we could get was the early war P40 and I killed pacerr six times in his La7 just trying to get home on fumes. Yes he tried to stop me... over and over. Great fun.  :aok
