....there....already poured water on the coming fanboi flame with the title.
I was just thinking this afternoon as soon as i got back from work helping out at the local gymnastics center for 3-7 year olds (which was so much fun, happy kids are so pure. They might not be nice all the time but they are free of deception.) So anyway i was sitting here with a coffee and a smoke and I got thinking.
What HTC have done with this game is quite amazing. They have created perhaps the most popular air combat sim on the net and they have done it by themselves. You look at the other area of gaming, like FPS for instance. The most popular game for FPS are mass marketed, sponsored, hyped up and shipped out in the typical modern day comercial fashion.
Our Devs here have done so much more hard work to get where they are today than any of those marketed mega companies. I just think it's time we stood up and aknowledge the fact that Hitech and crew have created something special out of nothing, without any help, and they stayed true to this product for a decade. I'm sure there have been times when they could have sold out and made a bundle, but they have not.
Anyone who has gripes with the game today just stop for one second and appreciate what a difficult task they are nailing on a day to day basis praticaly without fail. It's quite amazing, and I wouldnt have the smarts or the nerve to have done it myself.
thanks hitech and gang, bloody good job.

Remember, it's not just a game that is played online that makes it what it is. It's also the Community that supports the game!
<S> To HT and ALL the staff! And to I'm sure the one to puts in more time than anyone else-Skuzzy.
And to HT making probably one of the best decisions of Aces High- Hiring Waffle. Does Waffle have Vesting yet? :lol I know he's been there a few years now.
Glad that HT brought a member in for staff!
As Bat touched on earlier, most sim games are massed-marketed, with thousands of employees. And are generally out of touch with the Community that plays their game.
Like most big corps, they really don't understand, or care what the Community desires, or wants.
AH is THE Community that all online Communities should emulate. We have the only forum that I can state a problem in RL, or a happy occasion, and I know that the responses I get are genuine.
Although I do play a few other on-line games, most of my time and heart is with AH.
Nice idea and topic Bat!

Understood. smoked for probably 20 years total. Been off the stick (again) for just over a year now. Recently just had a rough spot and nearly started up again. I sure miss it but my lungs (a genetic weakness on my moms side of family) are feeling much better.
Dont mind me, I always inject my little pennies worth when I get a good excuse.

bout time someone did batfink great post bud :aok :salute :salute HTC crew

Ah is the only game that i have stuck to longer then 1 month (5 years now). They certainly know how to keep the excitement up after the years i have been playing.

It's not falling on deaf ears, thanks for the encouragement. One day!
I was a big fan of chewing tobacco.( shocking for a guy from Texas,I know) Loved the stuff and looked forward to it throughout the day. I struggled with quitting for no other reason than I didn't want to. I figured I had plenty of time to stop before anything real bad happened. Then one day you wake up and you realize you have been pouring money down the drain just to kill yourself for over ten years. They jacked the price up to $10 a pouch but I still kept buying. Then one day I was watching Family Guy and Peter meets his old coach who's face is half rotted off and says something to the effect of " I see you never gave up the chewing tobacco." I started to laugh but then the obvious set in. I threw the crap in the trash and quit cold turkey last February and I don't miss it. So I guess you need to quit or you'll die would be my point here.
And yes, AH is cool.

Man you have some will power. Quiting chew is 10 times harder than quiting smoking. I've done both. Quiting chew was WAY harder. I gained 20lbs in 2 weeks. I decided to take my chances with the cope.

It sucked for a month for sure. It was all I could do to keep from buying some and I even bought a pack of smokes during that time but once I was past that it's been surprisingly easy. I know some guys at work that just can't quit, I feel for them. Good luck if you try again, just think of ending up like Harvey Two Face or something. :D

I've been on the cusp of quitting several times and something always comes up that stresses me to the point of 'give me that snuff NOW'. Hopefully I will quit in the next year or so. I quit smoking, prescription narcotics, etc, cold turkey, but quitting dipping is a biznitch.

Yeah nice work Slash, it's never easy changing any kind of routine.

To me, AH is the greatest game ever, in the history of the world, and by far my most-treasured hobby.

I can vouch for that difficult task. I found quitting the Copenhagen was much more difficult than cigarettes. Mission accomplished! With all do respect...like I tell my kids, can't never could and never will. :aok I wish you the best of luck!
BTW - WTG Slash!! It's not easy but achievable.

Don't know if anyone else noticed but in the last month when I could get online I have seen far more humour and respect shown during fights in the MA and DA. When we stop ripping each other's throats out for a minute we are an awesome community to compliment the best air combat game.
