I just wanted to say it once instead of responding to every Tom, Dick and Harry who comes to the BBs whining about the gameplay, eny, collision model, caps or whatever the flavor of the day "I'm leaving because of" reason is.
Cya. Buh-bye.
I think half these people want everyone to say "Oh, please don't go". But instead everyone validates them by posting in their threads and encouraging more attention seekers. No wonder there's so many repetetive anti-AH whines on the boards.

You sound almost as catty and condescending as I am.

Excellant post! +1

They'll be back at Christmas break for a couple weeks.
Then, before you know it, it'll be June again and the sound of squeeky voices will be in the air...well, on the air.

forgot.... p.s can i have your stuff. just sayin :)
Lots of "old" guys leave due to burnout. I think the longer you play this game, the more breaks you need. If you don't take those breaks, you just get grumpy. That said, I do think game has changed quite a bit (in the non-graphical sense) over the years. I still have fun, though i'm still looking for a proper furball, though it seems a bit elusive. I don't really mind the comments left by people leaving....sometimes they are entertaining; maybe once-in-awhile there are legit issues brought up. It can't be any worse than all the other usual posts that we've seen a billion times :)

Couldn't have said it better myself. [Hijack] When are you setting up the next Dueling Ladder? I need to redeem myself after loosing in the first round of the last one. [/Hijack]

I just kind of shrug the 'I quit' soliloquies off. They are just part of MMOs. There's a whole bunch of people that think they are so special that people will care if they quit, very few actually are. The worst ones are the ones that go on mini-crusades about how terrible the game is in order to try and take a few people with them. They always fail miserably but they still try, sure as the sun will come up tomorrow.

Aw dam I thought BE was leaving. Was gonna :rock, :x,, and :bolt:

Yah, but it's kind of hot when you do it. :D

If you're leaving because the 'game has become the suck for me' well so long. If you don't want to leave but are forced to because life has kicked you down hard the forums are free.
This community is awesome. In fact the best one on the net in my not so humble opinion.
Ya we can snipe at each other, kick each other around, and so on. But when the nasty beast that is life jumps up and bites one of us actively playing or not in the butt it's amazing how much of this community rallies around the biteee. I've seen it happen so many times and I'm not ashamed to admit that one of the recent tragedies that didn't happen brought tears to my eyes. That is not the first time. You folks are freaking AWESOME.
Frankly I wish I had been that smart a couple of years ago. I never made a 'goodbye' post I just disappeared. That was quite possibly the fourth dumbest mistake of my life.
Do we push little cartoon airplanes around and get laughed at by people who don't have any clue about how hard it is to get good at this game? yep. Will I ever be ashamed of that? No. Laugh at me because you don't get it and I'll be happy to take you to the DA and you can pick the rides.
The thing I'm second most proud of is the acceptance of and the, sometimes grudging, respect of the people that play this game and who are on this site. I've been called every name that is in the book including ankle humper. *Shrug* I don't have to always AGREE with someone to respect their point of view. The people who know me very well know what #1 is.
If you feel like you have to leave the game for whatever reason then so be it. If you are dealing with hard times it's understood by a lot of people that have walked that walk before you have. If you're just trying to see who is going to say 'oh NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSS SSS don't leave us' then have a little class and walk away with your dignity intact.
Of course that's just MY opinion I could be wrong. But on this subject I doubt it.

Yah, but it's kind of hot when you do it. :D
But not when I do? :cry
-
If good-bye threads bother you so much, why read them?
The titles are usually pretty clear as to what the subject is, so just move on to the next one.
If someone leaves the game, I for one like to know. I have seen many disappear and have no idea if they changed their ID, or just decided to leave. If the thread is a goodbye whine, I usually stop at the point where I see who is leaving.
There are choices in every situation in life. Some choices may not be good as others, but a person always has options.

Some folks make friends with others they don't see all the time in game. I see nothing wrong with wanting to let them know they are leaving. Several guys I know have left the game and I often wonder if they're alright. Wish they would have posted something.
-
I think the OP was referring to the really new guys who are saying bye and nobody really is..... :cry over it.

AH community is like a big family.
Like any big family at times there are going to be fights, hair pulling, shin kicking, and other various and assorted dirty tricks.
If your leaving because you no longer have that addiction, that "itch" to fly, well take a long break, cya when you get back.
If your leaving because you can't stand the family anymore, well I feel sorry for you.
Because it is a family, and most of us do really get along, and its pretty cold and lonely out there.
