Spit XVIII and the pilot was his early 70s and an ex SAS pilot. Pilot's name Bertil Gerhardt.

OMG I just saw him perform in a Mustang little over a week ago. Can't believe it. He was supposed to fly a spit but it was canceled due to technical problems.
His pictures are in the 'Mustang pics' thread. R.I.P.

I too saw him fly that Mustang a week ago, pretty unbelievable that he's now gone :(

Those things are always tricky, so many pilots have met that fate.
