I'm running IE 8 on Windows 7 on my computer. I noticed yesterday the webpage symbols on my tabs weren't right, like this
(http://i586.photobucket.com/albums/ss304/longhornsfan2010/IE8edit.png)
It has WoT for Yahoo, MSN for the AH home page, and Yahoo for AH BBS
Anyone know how to fix this or what may be causing it?

I have this setup for several months now and the problem just showed up. I have chrome already on my pc so i guess i'll have to start using it and ditch the IE8

Did the problem start after you installed the new virus program? if so that could be the cause of your problem, it you purchased a physical copy of it i would roll it back a day or two and reinstall the virus program, you might have had something else open (browser, Napster, limewire) running or bad transfer , just make sure nothing is open or running when you reinstall, if it was a digital download you should still have access to the download and reinstall it from where it's stored, and remember to have nothing else open, hope that helps

Looks like you installed something, and they included a toolbar perhaps.

Indeed it did start after that download. It was one i bought but they send it in an email and you download it from the email. I was editing some pictures i took the other day while it was downloading so i'll try reinstalling it.

Windows 7 has some issues with icon cache. It may need regenerating now and then.

that might be true but that isnt the reason for this....
Im running XP pro with IE8 and the same happens to me...
Give it a few days and it will somehow fix itself. Mine will sometimes do it though i use the favorites tab, but it always fixes itself after a day or two.
