if your using vista and you have a copy not made for the US market, good luck getting it to run.... :huh

They will direct you to use a crack to get past the DRM,so if the company says use a crack to fix their OEM version I ask why bother purchasing it to begin with?

Oh I have a copy if you'd like never been used except once and then all I had was trouble getting running and when I went to support.... ya the sent me an email, cause they cant post the fix on the forums and tell me to use a crack!

Save your $$$ and take your wife/mom out to dinner.

   :salute

For me the best part of the IL2 series is watching the planes fly around on auto pilot and shoot infinite bullets at you. I do not think the AI ever runs out of ammo.

it looks beautiful, the flight model isn't nearly as good as the one we have here, but the damage model is far better in my opinion

It's fun flying the early war aircraft, but once you get to 1944+ craft, it is more of a chore than an enjoyment to fly them.

It's got a lot of planes in it including prototypes great damage model graphics aren't the best nor is the flight model I still like it though.

That's also assuming IL-2 uses the same sound format at AH.  "Well, like TB said, AH don't use Stereo sounds.  We can only do so much with 16bit mono sounds." (AKDogg (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,281161.msg3546435.html#msg3546435))
Not sure on IL-2s sounds but if it's anything above 16bit mono you'd need to convert it.

With the Miles Sound System, didn't they add support for stereo files?

IL2 is not bad for the PC and it is relatively cheap now that it is so old. You have to remember the game engine came out how many years ago, as this was in competition with CFS3.

You can still find some good servers on Hyperlobby to fly around in for free, but it is strictly furballing.
