Freindly call-signs while in all manned field guns to know here team-mates are/which are manned...? :old:
-
No on field guns icon.
-
Thats a good idea +1

No on field guns icon.
I'm not sure you read it all..the icons would only be visible to FRIENDLIES..
+1. It'd allow you to know who that guy sitting in the shore battery and not firing a shot is.

At least be able to click on a gun on the map and see who is in it. +1

Like if you up a ftr or Bomber, see incoming, see no guns occupied, bail and grab a gun. :joystick:

I would like the SB (Shore Battery) could have had the name of the player as a icon. It is very irritating when there is a player who just sits there without firing on the fleet.
-
Yes please. +1

+1 :aok

Big +1 on this idea. :aok
However by looking on range and visible icons, you can half way determine who may or may not be in the SB or AA/AT. It would be nice to know though. :salute

So how exactly is knowing who's in the SB not firing going to help anything? Do you think that somehow by showing their names they're going to all of the sudden start firing? Or do you want it so you can annoy and harass the guy? Just because you think the guy isn't firing doesn't mean he isn't. I cant tell you how many times Iv been in a SB firing at a fleet just to have some moron moaning and whining that someone is in the SB 'cheating' by not firing.

well, now we can see a trail off the sb and cv's rounds
-
Its been like that for a while now, unless they made it more visible in a resent patch. Thing is sometimes you cant see the SB firing.
-
Actually they just brought back the trail smoke from 5 and 8 inch guns in the last patch or two. :salute

quite often it doesn't have an angle.
even so, I have no problems with an icon showing who's in the gun.

If you can see there is a player that mess up your play by holding the SB out of use ( sitting there and do nothing )
You can film that and report him...
That was just a wish, and i think that I'm not the only one with that wish..... :salute
( I have seen that happend before, and I'm sure some other players have too :) )
-
Film and report them for what exactly?

So true, many times I have sat in a SB waiting for a CV to come within the firing angle of the SB.

This is not "reportable". As long as he isn't violating any TOS, insulting players and so on, everybody is free to do as he likes. If you report someone not using his weapon in a way you like, you could also report fighters for not killing that last town building or not shooting at the enemy on your six.
And yes, I too was accused of "keeping the SB out of action" a lot, when in fact I was just waiting for the enemy TG to get into my arc of fire.

And why don't the player who are in the SB respond when another player are asking who is in the SB?
One time, me and some other players was trying to defend a base, and the CV came in the range to the SB, there was someone in the SB, but on range channel just shows me and the other players who i was flying with. Still the SB was occupied... A Bug maybe?
Anyway...... i see what you are saying, but the only player that don't whant me to use the weapon in the way i like are in that SB. The reason is that, he don't want me to sink it.

Don't forget the ones in five inchers shooting at fighters furballing instead of those bombers coming in.
And why don't the player who are in the SB respond when another player are asking who is in the SB?
You would have to ask them. Most of the times I was in a SB and people were whining ''whos in the SB and why arent they killing the cv'' Id just ignore them.
-

:huh So you agree with there should be one. Gotcha. It Friday and I am still at work. :furious

If so, then it says more about you than the other.

I know players have even ask on range vox and by text, but no answer.... If you really are using the SB, why don't answer when a player are asking? I don't think that is showing a teamspirit.... We can sit here and argue against each other, but there is no consensus.
And if you are sitting in the SB and do not answer a simple question : who is in the SB?
And to me, that question don't look much like a whining. The end
-
No, because Iv been playing this game long enough to know what comes after you tell them you're in it. Next questions will be ''well why aren't you shooting?", "If you're shooting then why cant I see it?" , "I bet you're a spy helping out the other team!" and so on. Because they hardly ever just ask nicely. Most of the time they're squeaking and whining because they think they can tell others what to do, and always get they're way.
Oh and 'teamspirit'? The only team I ever belonged to was my squad. I switched countries to even out numbers, and I guess that's why you and I have a different outlook on this situation.

OK. i can by that.... But the thing is, when there are a player there, and DONT use the SB. And DONT answer my/ others question, that is weird.
If i get a respond or not from the SB, and its firing. Then i presume that he knows what to do.
Note: Not answer and dont fire from SB.
you are in the SB and dont answer, i dont care. But you are using the SB to sink the CV? If you do, you are using it to sink the CV. Right?
And switching countries to even out numbers has nothing to the SB to do..... :salute

ever consider that the person is simply not paying attention, or doesn't feel like talking??

And can you plz explain why the SB is taken, and you look at the range list to see who's in it?
I saw me and 5 other on range, all of us was in air. but the SB was taken, and had no name? It was not destroyed.
And another thing, its ok not to respond..... its even not firing.....
As i wrote earlier, can it might be a bug?

How do you know someone was in it?

How do you know someone was in it?
I was over SB but could not see that someone used it. I bailed to get in the SB. And the SB icon on map was Blue ( occupied ). I upped a new plane, and went back to the CV and still, the SB didn't fire. The CV was in range to be hit by the SB. I jumped out again :) and it was still occupied.....
-
I have nothing more to say. Good Night :salute

sometimes they are out of range of range vox -- they will not show up OR hear you.. On some bases on some maps, the shorebats are quite far away from the base (more than 6k yds), and possibly friendly players.
as a quite regular user of shorebats, I just also will remind you to be very familiar with finding them on the field gun map in hangar. Some bases have multiple sb's, sometimes they overlap onto the field guns, make sure the "blue/occupied" one you're looking at is actually the right one in the hangar.

To repeat my self :It is very irritating when there is a player who just sits there without firing on the fleet.
I have heard chatter from guys talking about changing sides to spy, interfere in a battle etc. You can tune to an opposing team-mate in VOX and tell them exactly where a CV is, or that you are sitting in their SB so no-one can shoot your CV. :furious
PS just because this pisses you off, being falsely accused doesn't mean nobody does it. :salute

Sometimes the SB covers either the town or the base. I have been cussed out for firing at our maproom when I saw an enemy gv there. But, I do answer the person wanting to know why I am firing at our own base. Otherwise ignoring the query, it stands to reason others would think I am from the other side.
