Anyone else having problems witht this new stick?
The rudder emulator and throttle motion seems to work fine, even the 8-way hat... one thing missing. Problem is - x/y stick movement. The j/s calibration doesn't register any movement at all... before or after I try re-caling.
Any and all suggestions appreciated!

Doggr... I'm having the exact same problem. I have a MadCatz PantherXL. What is your system stats? Maybe we can find something in common that could be causing it?
I have a Celeron 300A (running @464)
128M Ram. WD 3.1 and 8.4 G HDs, Maxtor 13.0G HD.
Asus V3800Deluxe 32M Video card.
Creative Labs Voodoo2 12M.
Diamond Monster Sound MX300.
The others on this board were very helpful, unfortunately, my problem hasn't been fixed yet.

Here's the stuff StarKnite...
500 P3 on a 440BX w/128M
running 98se w/dx6.1 (never even tried dx7)
Diamond 770 w/32M
TurtleB MontegoII Sound/gameport
btw - tried it both USB and gameport(no-poll and with - just in case). Under "game controllers" stick looks like it works flawlessly (all axis and buttons working). Just not in the game.
Although it is technically the stick's problem, I've heard that WB's had the same issue. Saitek shipped them a stick and they got it patched on r2.74 within a couple weeks. hmm... (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Are you having problems just in AH, or everywhere? My problems only exist in AH.
I tried with polls on and off, and also Diamond and Standard gameports, no luck.
We both have a vortex2 sound card, right?

I just got a new computer yesterday and picked up the Saitek Combo today, and then ran into the exact same problem. It ran perfectly in Warbirds (3.74) and a couple other sims I just installed, but in Aces the joystick X/Y is just dead. Throttle, rudder, and the hats seem to work perfectly, just nothing from the stick.
P3 700
192mb ram
DirectX 7
SB Live! value
Riva TNT2 Ultra AGP
I didn't try it in USB mode yet cause the box said DirectX 7 required, so I installed that before opening the box only to discover a warning saying don't use with USB under DirectX 7 DOH!! Haven't looked to see if there is a patch out there yet. Hey if there is, someone point me in the right direction *grin*
Anyway, I hope to see the issues with this stick cleared up soon.

Tis true Paul - USB and DX7 don't mix yet (till MS comes up w/ a patch).
And StarKnite - I can get it running in most things (including WB IF you get the 3.74 patch)... just not AH or AW3. (x/y works in AW3 just not the hat and programables).
Just sitting here twidling my thumbs for the time being. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)

Just got Saitek USB X36 too. No X or Y axis. Using DirectX7, works fine in AW. Saitek sez they have a patch for us X7 users.
Have sent for it via e-mail at support@saitekusa.com

Oh, check out: http://www.just-saitek.co.uk/ (http://www.just-saitek.co.uk/)

The Patch from Saitek removes DX-7 from your system. DX-7 is not yet compatible with the USB version of the x36 combo.
AH will not allow the use of the USB Version of the Saitek x36Combo because it does not support 6 axis joysticks.
This will have to be addressed by Hitech Creations.
Warbirds had the same problem. They contacted Saitek and was able to remedy the problem. The USB stick works great in Warbirds.
AceHigh will need to contact Saitek to remedy this problem.

I have the same problem, only I am using DirectX 6. Same thing, throt. rud. axis work fine, but no j-stick axis.
I had the old saitek combo and it worked Great (with digital asprian)
I called Saitek and they said if the usb combo works in windows control panel, then it's working, if it's not working in the game.... then -it's the game
The stick works fine in other sims , but not here aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrgggggggg g!!!!!!!
HELP HT!!!!!!!

Got my reply from Saitek today. Helped with other problems but mentioned nothing about DirectX7 (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif) Back to analog X36 combo for me for now (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)
Mickeysoft fix DirectX!!!! At this rate with all the new and wonderful software and equipment being produced, we'll all be flying with mouse and keyboard soon!! heheeeee

Two Weeks since this problem was first posted and still no response from HiTech Creations.
Hey Guys, Some of us can't even play your game till you get the thing to recognize Saiteks new USB stick.
Contact Saitek and get the information to make your game compatible with their stick. You are about the only sim that STILL does not support this new USB stick.

Well now I feel TOTALLY out of the loop. My joystick isn't even USB and I'm having the same problem as you guys (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif) also, my problems are ONLY with AH, nothing else.
-
Whelp, I'm finally able to play AH again after after working TONS of overtime. With all my hard earned cash I went out and bought the new Saitek USB combo, and now I can't play (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif). If I use USB or the regular gameport
I get no x,y axis movement in AH. Falcon 4.0 works just fine.
Soooooo HT, any idea when you will have a chance to fix this? I really need to shoot some chutes!

Hey guys
HiTech adjusted thier joystick code in the newest versions. I don't know if the Saitek is fixed (That is the one they were working on), but it definitely fixed my panther :-)
