Has anybody subscribed to the NetFlix with the "NetFlix ready device" to download movies right to your TV?
If you have, can I have a review of the product?

I like it. Streaming and 2 dvd's at a time for $18.00 a month. I use my PS3. :aok
-
I use my Samsung BDC6500 BluRay player and it works great.

How is Netflix regarding new releases? Are the timely or do they fall behind a few weeks?
Concerning the Samsung BDC6500 BluRay player, do you run a cable or is it WiFi?
How many movies per month can we download and watch?

The spousal unit has the Netflix thingy your talking about except she has it through the Wii. she likes it alot.

Usually the streaming is limited to the Instant Play and doesn't always have the new releases but does have a lot of shows and some good war movies. Picture quality depends on connection quality, the better the connection the better the picture. I stream Netflix using my PS3 and the picture is usually HD quality and haven't experienced any buffering pauses.
I did try this one service called PlayOn that lets you stream Netflix and Hulu (and some other ones too) from your PC to your TV using an Xbox360 or PS3. I wasn't satisfied with it at all. Some shows on Hulu were unwatchable because the picture quality was so bad with a lot of buffering pauses. Netflix through it was also crappy, the picture quality is the same as you would have on your PC and not what it would be if you were streaming through a PS3 or your Blue-Ray player. Not worth the subscription price.

Just so I understand, the movies are streaming, but not loaded ahead of time? Say, "Lets have dinner now and let this movie load and when we are done eating, lets watch it?" I does not work that way right?
I am a little behind on the newer technology.

You can go through the streaming library on line and pick out a ton of movies and
when you bring up Netflix on your system, they will all
show as "on que" ready for viewing. There really is no waiting time involved to watch them.
The movies will stay in your que until you delete them. Pretty sure you can pause while watching them too, if ya wanna take a break from it.
I wouldn't use wireless to stream video, make a wired connection for better quality.
-
it will also remember where you stopped your movie and load to the same point when you return to watch it.
When you stream it preloads way ahead of the point you are watching. You shouldnt notice the loading or lag of the streaming video, or at least i havent.

I just get the disks, but trust me its a HUGE deal, how much my family used to rent movies every month we saved hundreds a year.

If you can play Aces high your internet is good enough, they have thousands of movie to "watch instantly" you just pick a movie and hit play movie now.
Should take 10 seconds to buffer then your good to go.....I have seen a bunch of good movies I would have never given the time of day for in a movie store.
And as far as new releases to ship to your house they are quick to deliver and no wait time after release.
-
no wait time after release.
Yes there is. Depending on the movie studio it can be as long as two weeks after release before it will be available on NetFlix.

I stream it through my Samsung Blueray and love it! The quality is decent.. not 1080p obviously but still HD.
My only problem with it is if you have to rewind, you have to wait for it to buffer again.. which takes 10-20 seconds...

i was at work today, we watched a movie using a droid tethered to a laptop. was pretty good quality. only thing is just like cable/sat tv, they have hundred of movies you dont want to watch.

Still, that's very reasonable.

Question is: Is Netflix still adding movies to their arsenal? Older movies say?

Yes and they also have agreements with certain pay channels (Starz) and studios to add more movies to their Instant Play as well as regular DVDs.

I personally like it. I used it to watch every episode of Spartacus: Blood and Sand last year. They would usually put it up the day after it appeared on tv. I've watched a load of different series that I would probably never think of watching like Weeds that I really enjoy and tons of movies that I wouldn't think of picking up at Blockbuster.

But... The other smart guy said if my connection was fast enough to play AH it was fast enough for netflix. Now I'm confused... Which one of you is lying to me?

I run it via wifi and its pretty good with the streaming capability. I could run it via cable but I decided against that since I am limited in the amount of ports on my router.
