Title: A treat for you all In Here :)
Post by: BulletVI on August 30, 2010, 07:29:44 AM

Saturday 28th August 2010. That is a day i shall never forget :)

It was a bleak but calm day And me and my Father and Uncle Robert went to Larg's On the Clyde Coast. To have a Dayout as you do :). We got there and oh there was a local festival now in full swing so we said well lets enjoy the day and festival at the same time. ( And thank God we did )

Around 1pm i asked my dad if he could hear that o so strange engine noise ? He replyed No mike I cant. So i thought HUH im hearing things again :headscratch:. But then it got louder and louder and i looked up AND I VIRTUALLY SCREAMED AT MY DAD DAD LOOK THERE IS AN Se5a LOOK.

And he went WHAT and like a lightning flash he whipped out his EOS50D Camera And Started Snapping Away At the Se5a :) But what happened next was a shocker He went and did a full aerobatics display :)

So here are the Lovely Photo's My Dad Took Of The Se5a

( And below each is a link so you can download your Favourite Photo Of It :) )

Nice one  :salute Not the sort of thing you expect to see usually, I mean an SE5a.... I'd expect to see it in a WW1 flight sim (hint hint) but not just by chance flying around and doing stunts.

I remember a few years ago I was outside taking a smoke break at work and heard this low rumbling that seemed to be coming for nowhere. At first I thought it was a CH-47 or UH-60 that are pretty common around these parts. After about a minute or searching the sky's I see this huge aircraft flying at maybe 1000ft. Finally I am able to make it out and my jaw litterally drops. I must have looked like at idiot running around the building as fast I could trying to keep it in sight. What I would have given to have my camera with me that day.  :cry

Not my picture but thats the same plane I saw flying that day. I wish I had my camera. Would have been some sweet photos since it was flying so low.

A few years back, Arizona hosted the Superbowl.  The stadium is just 4 miles from my house.  The military flyover come directly over my house.  I was outside when I heard the noise.  Was looking in the direction of the sound as it appeared, very low, very slow, B2 Stealth bomber.  The most terrifying machine I have ever seen.  Pictures don't do it justice.  Sitting on the runway doesn't do it justice.  I have trouble describing how it made me feel, I was dizzy afterward.

I will second the creepy feeling seeing that airplane.  I was flying to O'hare and the controller called out traffic.  It was the B2 in a holding pattern a thousand feet above us.  There was a thin cloud layer between us.  It was like seeing a ghost.

Very cool Bullet!! :aok

A few years back I was driving across the dam of our local lake and I see this plane doing acrobatics and I immediatly recognize it as some sort of warbird. I get a better look at it and it has Japanese markings. So I pull over and watch , getting all excited because I think it's a Zero. Then I realize it's a damn Ki-43. It was one of the replicas that were being built in Ft Worth at the time. I called Bear76 like a giddylittle school girl. No pics of course :(

Sweet. I grew up just along the coast from there. My Gran lived on Cumbrae - the island in the background. Spent many hours sailing in those waters.

Hi chaps!

Some 18/20 years ago I saw what I believe to be a Lancaster flying over Lisbon - the 4 engines and twin tail point to one - heading in the general direction of the Portela airport in a landing pattern. Also might be preparing to land at the small Alverca OGMA airstrip...

Does anyone know if it was a Lancaster and what was doing in Portugal? Maintenance at OGMA? Simple scale on a longer flight? I wonder...

Cheers,

possible, more likely it was a Shackleton - they were still in service with the RAF then and looked identical to a Lanc from the ground.
