Hi folks,
I promised myself that before I don't have time to stay addicted to this game anymore, I would finally video share this project to the community. Its about the P47 and the dogfights hence associated with only the fiercest of pilots who fly them.
Here it is:
Hunt or Prey (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3HPaXGUDrM&fmt=22) YouTube link stream
Note: If your computer can't handle HD, click the fullscreen button (bottom right) of the video player, this should take care of the problem.
DVD Videosoft (http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/) link (to download & convert YouTube videos)
I took the time this week-end to record and edit this whole mess. I made other videos in the past, just not about this game.
Enjoy! :salute
PS: there is a couple of minor tech problems here and there but everything looks sharp enough for my taste.

Hot damn! Outstanding gunnery. I might also add that I like the way you exploit the jug's ability to dump E and saddle up on the enemy. Great video! :salute
-
Outstanding video!! You must have nice system for those fraps with the head tracker shots. I definitely enjoyed this one!!! I would love to know what your system specs are and what editing software you have used.

Very nice! :salute

Outstanding video!! You must have nice system for those fraps with the head tracker shots. I definitely enjoyed this one!!! I would love to know what your system specs are and what editing software you have used.
Specs:
Motherboard: Asus P5Q-E Pcie 4DDR2 1200
Ram: 4Gb
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4Ghz 1066
Graphix: Ati Radeon 4870 512 Gddr5 Pcie
Windows 7
Assembled it feb 2009.
I recorded everything at 0.5X speed in the film viewer to enhance the framerate and smoothness with Fraps (You can go slower if your computer can't handle it but file size will proportionally increase). I tried using Camtasia Studio for recording at first (to reduce uncompressed video file sizes) but with no conclusive results after hours of tweaking. Sony Vegas was ultimately the video editing software used (lens flares, level control, cropping, panning, audio, etc) and I composited custom images with Photoshop to enhance the colors and overall style. Some annoying glitch frames had to be manually removed and some are still visible in the final product.

Outstanding Lepape. Though I was rooting for the F4Us the whole time. Think a few of those you massacred were mine also
-
Extreme effort: A+

Phenomenal job LePape :aok
Will definitely watch again.
-
Wow Epic is right! Makes you want to take up a Jug. Fantastic shot at 4:20. Even saw a skin of mine in there. :)
-
:O Outstanding!
Incredible flying and gunnery in the '47 too.
-
Wow! That is excellent -- both the flying and the marvelous composition of the video.
Outstanding!
Many, many thanks for the work you put into this. :aok :salute
-
Very well done :aok Krusty's P47N 1ST F/S never looked better sure glad I dug that skin up for him to do. Love the low angle shots as well. Going to have to get the Boston out again & get in the training arena once more with you.
-
I think this is the first Aces High video that matches the production values seen in videos of other games... great job!
-
This is the best AH film I have ever seen! Some of those angles just blew me away, I was picking up my jaw over and over again! Now Niros has company at the top of the heap :aok!
-
Bravo!! Well done! Have added this film to ur prior P47 films where
u dueled others .... a keeper for sure. Should u have more, pls post TY.
 :aok :salute

I think someone should contact HTC about hosting this video and linking from the main AH website - right next to Sanjini's!

Thank you very much everyone for the constructive and positive feedback! I want to keep a cool head with this but it also really means a lot.
Thanks again :salute
-
Absolutely amazing! I've been working on a film too, but it's no where need near your video. Gives me some inspiration to keep doing it. :D I just have one question.... how did you get the colors to look so vibrant?
-
I am glad my skin looks so good in a video! I lack the hardware to run decent graphics and record at the same time (I've tried, lordy I've tried) so I love it when others do it for me.
I really liked the shots where it almost looked like the combatants were stalling on a dime but the camera angle made it look like they were hardly moving "up" at all.
Also, the nice choreographed double stall... EPIC framing! Two :aok :aok
-
Excellent Lepape. Great flying and great video.
-
Nice to see a film with quality comtent for a change!
Fantastic work my friend. :salute

This shot was actually made with FLS this last week-end - Its no choreography. I had just finished filming landing/taking off/bombing/etc when FLS was floating right there with his 190 waiting for a good fight. We glided together like two birds showing off for 10minutes. It was really fun.
Excellent Lepape. Great flying and great video.
So, thanks for that last minute addition FLS :salute

Took a screenshot of the unprocessed video, pasted in Photoshop and tried to make it look good with as few steps (overlayed images with gradients) as possible and then repasted the resulting images in tracks in Sony Vegas where I applied the same blending options and opacity.

Fantastic work my friend. :salute
content* lol.

Excelent movie and gunnery Lepape.
Outstanding fight skill as well. Very smooth cam movement and special cam angles.
This is indeed a movie for study how to create a piece of art.
Thanks for sharing.

Excellent job! :aok :aok

That video should make anyone want to get up and fly.
Absolutely epic in content, flow, editing, music, and overall skill.
This should get a prime time slot on HBO for the work that was put into that.
Just wow :salute
I think the whole community wants more!
-
Am I the only one that didn't know the P-47 was the WWII equivilant to the F-22?? That was fantastic flying, I'm going to go get in a 47 in the TA and try to learn that stall technique! I espically liked the stall manuver that gave you the crossing shot (at point blank)! Looked like something out of the movie "Stealth"! Very well done!

Just one word.....WOW!
thanks for the film <S>

One word. EPIC

Awesome film Lepape! Incredible flying, gunnery and scene setups. But most of all I think your choice of music and the way you merge the film and music together makes you a first class film director. ;) Its a joy to watch when you hear the tense of the music builds and let you know something is about to happen, and when it happens it is in such perfection that I can't imagine the hours spent in the selection of material and making of this film. Great work Lepape!

Very nice and even better considering what it is like to work with the film viewer to create those pieces :aok
-
Congrats on 20,000 + views Lepape, your video was even posted on the iRacing forum (another game which I play).

Wouldn't have been possible without hitech allowing it on the front page (and all other others having this chance too) as well as its community making it happen. Thanks to everyone for the comments, appreciated!
Although I'm used to getting views on YouTube, in AH, its not a small number. And its good publicity for the game ;)
