AFAIK they are only illegal in California.
-
I know just about everything fun is illegal here in NY.
-
A shoulder fired .50? I thought those were way illegal. I know you can get the Barrett .416 but didn't think the .50 was available outside law enforcement. Could be I'm wrong, just wanting clarification cause I WANT ONE! lol!

Cause we have idiots besides Arnold running the country....we need concealed weapons....floridas murder rate droped 49% in 10 years after applying concealed weapons.

Societies do tend to be much more polite when you don't know if the person you are speaking to is carrying a weapon or not. Though I tend to prefer open carry- theres something to be said for a .44 hanging off your belt (or a sword, for that matter). People are much less rude when they're unsure of your mental state and/or state of combat readiness. :devil

But your not talking about a rifle, you mean the pistol. Big difference, but yeah the pistols hurt too! lol

I've fired a .50GI conversion that a guy I worked with owned and brought in to the range one day. Didn't feel much worse than my .45 kick wise, but my gawd what a difference in hitting power! We were shooting gallon jugs full of water- the .45 blew them up (at about 25 yards), but the .50GI vaporized them. All you'd find were shreds of plastic scattered for about fifteen feet around the now sopping wet target stand. I don't even want to think about what it would do to a person trauma wise- definitely a case of don't point it at something unless you want to kill it!

I'm 5'10 150 pounds soaking wet so a 38 hurts to me. lol!!!! Funny tho, when I was in the Navy on a boat, I taught Marines how to shoot, outscored them most times, and even was ships Gunner for a while. Favorite thing is taking a .308 deer rifle , at my size and handshake, and outshooting the owner with his own rifle. Doesn't happen much lately but still always a hoot to do. I've fired 25mm 40mm .50 cal even tried a hipshot M-60 (once lol), still missing the "lay behind a Barret and hold on" to add to that lol!

The only reason they ever made the .416 Barret was because in certain states especially California .50 cal was illegal. The funny thing is that the .416 is more lethal then the .50cal :lol

Also the .50, according to the Geneva Convention (afaik) can't be used for anti personnel. However if personnel wears a uniform(shoot the uniform), belt buckle, small animals, canteen, etc...all is fair. Buddy told me in Afghanistan he couldn't shoot snipers anymore in the head, so he started shooting the bricks above them and they died of crush wounds. Then the whole dog fiasco lol!

We used to say we were shooting at their guns with the M2.

Heh you shot uphill about 30 degree elevation and rounds penetrated that (washing machine?) like butter. What was behind that hill? Those rounds are going to land awfully far away and be leathal.

LOL very cool, i still have some 30.06 tracer ammo my dad brought back from korea, i shoot them every so often, but do i sense a video coming of a propane tank Vs 50 Cal APIT , sounded like your family was planing it lol
-
Wow nice, what happens if you miss the top target and send it over the hill?
Miles of swamp and prarie?
More freedom than we have, grrrrr
-
LOL if we missed our backstop, the neighbors might lose a few cows, :bolt:
I still dont know if we are going to get any more special ammo, we had to go to a machine gun shoot to pic up that ammo, but it sure would be cool,
LOL I might end up buying 20 lbs of tannerite to set off all at once on new years eve, lol we will wake up the neighbors for sure! :D

It's the Hague Accords and it doesn't ban the use of the .50 against people. I have heard it was US Army policy to use crew served weapons on material.

Anything over a 50 cal is considered a destructive device according to BATF,and would require the 200 tax stamp, etc. 50 BMG is perfectly legal.
