Make sure to ZOOM it.
The detail is incredible.

Hmmmmmmm. Just how different is that cockpit vs the B model?
-
Why don't we have the same canopy in game as in that photo? Not that I'm complaining....just wondering. :)

Anyone work out why the B24 seems to a few thousand feet off the deck?
Thanks for the link to this site WMLute.

That 24 cocpit seems a bit different than in AH. Also do you know if thats the real memphis belle of one of the replicas?

Gotta be the Minnesota based CAF P51C.
When I was 15 or so back in the mid 70s that bird was unrestored and the fuselage and wings were leaning against the hanger of Jack Sandberg in Crystal Minnesota where i took flying lessons. I snuck into the cockpit from underneath one day and vividly remember reading that Data plate on the right edge of the cockpit saying it was built in Dallas, Texas. I spent many a day trying to figure out how I was going to haul away the pieces of that 51 without being seen :)
It didnt' look quite that clean back in 1975

Wow! Those are some cool sites!
Anyone able to find one for a Corsair?

Ugh. :furious
P51C is exactly the same as the P51B. P51B built at the Inglewood California factory, P51C built at the Dallas Texas factory. Both the B and C Mustang used the British built Malcom hood. Not all B or C Mustangs got them. We used to have the factory installed "coffin" hood modeled in AH. We'd like to believe because we asked nicely, and it was an attempt to improve visibility like the real Malcom hood did, HTC added the Malcom when they redid the Mustang Models.

:lol tnx Dan. They must have redone the 51s before I started playing because I don't recall what the old canopys looked like.

Note that I didn't set up the views in the AH1 version. Both are P-51B. Click thumbnails for 1024x768 images.

Bit of photographic license on that B24.
Out the window it's in the air, but everything is shut off, gear is down, parking brake is set (and the strap engaged).
Kinda tough to maintain airspeed like that.. :lol

Very Cool! Thanks for the post :aok
