A desert terrain has been asked for many times. I'd like to present TwinRivr, now available in the AvA. Enjoy folks. :salute

Is this the amount of trees everywhere or are there open areas of just "sand?"
-
There are open areas, customs dust storms & custom river towns with destroyable bridges for intense GV fighting.

Looks great, WTG!

Ranger, now you must partake on the quest to make a Malta map for our next scenario!

Your river banks are very nice Ranger, I wish I could do work like that. :rock

Kind of reminds me of my favorite map skin for AW, Tunisia. Nice work as always USRanger.

I flew in the AvA tonight just to try out this map, it's beautiful.

Gotta love a nice desert terrain. When I looked out the side of my JG 27 Bf 109F, felt like I was transported back to North Africa. The different style clouds and random sandstorms roaming around place added quite a bit I think. I hope to destroy a bridge soon.

Makes up for Ranger having posted pics of his ugly mug some time back.

Seriously, wtg.

The terrain is great and the bases are not too far. Great for quick intense fighting with fantastic views.
I was a 109 dweeb last night. Will be in there tonight too.
<S> Ranger
Thanks!

Very nice ranger!

Ranger, I said this to you last night, but just going to repeat myself... Map looks GREAT. The pale water rivers look really good too.

I'm sure I could have fun with that sentence, but I'll leave it alone. =)
I was on around the same time as Shuffler last night, and I'll agree. Was definitely fun. Good, intense fights. I was actually suprised at how low the fights pretty much stayed, and with the different icon settings from MA it made for a lot more intense moments of "My god, is that a good guy or a bad guy saddling up?" Other than the fight being pushed really close to the enemy airfield, most of it was pretty even 3v3, 2v2, 4v4 style fights. If I can again today, I'm definitely gonna hop back on.
I specifically remember hearing this on Vox...
"wagger, there's an enemy con coming in from in front and above us to help his buddy."
"Oh wait, nevermind, it's just Knite."
lol

great work Corey!

Ranger always does awesome stuff with maps! Now about the pic of his ugly mug... Check out the movie "BlackHawk Down", you'll find him manning the buzzsaw MG. If it isn't him, it's his twin! He denies any involvement. He also has a metal head as he was stabbed in the forehead a couple years ago and I suspect that it broke the perp's blade. :x
We always hear about the negative personalities of the community but we have an estimated 25% (my estimate and who said I could count?), of the community that gives far more than they receive and it's darned refreshing to see some acknowledgment for those efforts that are seen by so many but appreciated by so few. :salute
All the Best...

Any PT boats for the rivers?
-
Any PT boats for the rivers?
Not sure, but you can take lvt's down the river.
-
I had to take the PTs out because there has always been a bug with the bridges where if you go under one, it kills the PT's engine. I'd like to see some cool LVT invasions when the bridges are blown tho. :)

Can you fly under the bridges?
-
Nicely done!
Hopefully the map will find uses somewhere other then the AvA someday.
-
Can you fly under the bridges?
I wouldn't recommend it, they look too low to even let an Rv-8 pass under them.
-
Correct. I had to lower the bridges for the GVs to have an easier time getting on them. At default height, some GVs can stall out & roll backwards. This way, all of em can drive right on up. There's still enough slope for jeeps to catch some good air if they have speed. :rock
