Title: Need some help on value
Post by: hlbly on September 02, 2010, 10:25:43 AM
While cleaning my garage yesterday I found one of these buried in the gravel . I am fairly certain it is gold . Been getting a little confused though on dwt vs troy vs grams .  I found a forum that said it was 17.35 grams of 14kt gold . Have been unable to find that forum again or anywhere else with any info . Can anyone help me ? I think I got around 200 bucks or so for scrap gold here . That was with wiki's price of 12 dollars per gram . I don't trust wiki with my historical research , kinda nervous trusting their price . Any help greatly appreciated .(http://i371.photobucket.com/albums/oo159/hlbly/Heinz1947_0000.jpg)

Try contacting Heinz Company. I'm sure Mrs. John Kerry Heinz (heiress) and her company will probably have information about that service coin. They might even be interested in buying it from you, as it is a good piece of Company memorabilia.
