Title: Win98se & Asus AGP cards
Post by: BBGunn on May 18, 2000, 09:49:00 PM
Has anyone had any problems with getting windows to recognize Asus AGP cards or in accepting new asus drivers?   Can't get past default setting of 16 colors and 640x480 minimum resolution.

BB-Gun dude... long time no sheep!

Make sure u haven't got any display or remote control utilities running. Worst program for this particular fault is PC-Anywhere.

If you are running PC-Anywhere or anything like it you must _COMPLETELY_ uninstall it before trying to install AGP drivers, and reinstall it once the new drivers are in.

BBGun, I have the same probs. Using V3.48 drivers. Later drivers will only allow me to run at 640*480.

Thanks for your replies: turned out that I had a registry problem and possibly a conflict somewhere else-I reinstalled and got things going again-AGP card works.  This time I installed the via miniport drivers first.  Anyway I'm getting closer to getting into the cyber skies with this new system.

StSanta: I got it going with the 3.48 drivers and it seems to be doing pretty good. Low res gets 55-60FPS. I'm just happy I got AH to work.
