wortzman, may I please suggest that you spend a little more time here getting to know the forum before making ludicrous requests with non-respectful comments and blaring caps lock?
-
all i'm saying is that most people that request stuff in the wishlist section or any other forum subtitle are not being heard at the highest level and blaring caps lock helps me get more attention then lower case letters and i'm sorry Mar that i am suggesting things that are real and i can't help it if i would like these vehicles to be placed in the game, its just a suggestion nothing else.
-
Actually, our new friend, it will piss off the respected people around here and will prove to do more bad than good.... Including some of the HTC Team on a bad day. :old:

I will say this about you though...... This reply shows character, and courage, and for that I <SALUTE> you!

Your being heard I am sure of that. This game how ever is not on the scale OF IL-2 or some other mega game. So the staff is small with limited resources & I think they do the best they can with what they have. Patients is a must in the wish list forum. :aok

i wasn' t trying to be disrespectful i was just trying to prove a point and if that pisses people off i'm sorry i can't help being the person that I AM.

Is this the wish list or an episode of Dr. Phil?
Honestly, it would be cool to see every one of the gvs on your list, and about 50 assorted airplanes from 1939 - 1945. Objectively, there are more considerations that the cool factor.
1. How much time can HTC afford to spend on the research and modeling?
2. How much game time would a plane/gv see?
3. How would the vehicle/plane affect game balance?
And more that escape me right now.
Your list is your opinion. There are several thousand of us with opinions out here. Hitech seems to read most of them.

A simple 'pretty please can I has" would've sufficed. But nooo, just had to bring out the sarcasm hammer didn't ya?

OK here's a question: If an idiot trips in the forest, does anyone anywhere care? Does the OP realize that one of the tanks listed is already in the game and two of the tanks he lists are the same tank?

Fail. Even as a dedicated GV'er, I say this is a fail.
About all you can salvage from that list is the Panther, Panzer III, and the StuG III.
Maus didn't even have a complete prototype made, comet tank made it into service just a bit late I think but don't quote me on that, no place for towed guns at the moment, and the Panzer I and II would be just about useless here, and AH isn't ready for the Koinstiger IMO.
Also, anyone else notice the redundant wish for a Koinstiger :noid?

I agree, we need a Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. :aok
-
Actually nem, maus did have a prototype that was on its way to see combat, but broke down, and lots of parts including hulls and turrets were captured
-
Some people say the maus saw combat when the factory it was built at (Kummersdorf) was invaded chances are slim though that it actually did...
-
From the accounts I've heard, only two complete hulls were made, a version 1 and a version 2. Several turrets were captured complete and in various stages of production. The russians took the V2 hull, and mated it with a V1 turret for evaluation (still not a complete prototype). Unsure about this, but I hear there was also some turrets fitted to be armed with the KwK 43 because of greater avaliability. As far as I know, the maus seeing combat is just a myth.
-
First off, just because you don't get a reply does not mean the request was not seen and filed.
Few idea's indeed are truly good enough to get a reply directly from HT and co.
Second Caps lock just gets you ignored.
Your attitude which followed isn't helping any either.

Your probably right still fun to believe though. :lol

Here's the deal about the Maus.
2 were made. One was in combat (sorta), the crew bailed once they saw enemies. The Russians captured this Maus and it is now in a Museum in Russia. The other was scuttled by the Germans so that it too did not fall into Russian hands. This Maus was fitted with a simulated turret, not a different version. There was one designed turret and only one real turret made, the other was simulated. There were 2 Maus built, one is still complete the other was scuttled.

source? I've never even HEARD that they bailed out when they saw enemies, yet alone read it.

We need a better sub for the He-111 in BoB; ju-88 just not getting the job done.

The surviving Maus is actually part of both prototypes. The Soviets had mated the V1 hull to the V2 turret. I believe the V2 was the one the Germans blew up in place outside of Berlin when the Soviets were at the city gates.

Nemisis, you should see my library. "Bailed out" might not be good terminology but the point is they didn't fight the Soviets as Ack Ack mentioned. They may have produced two turrets but the one that was scuttled did have a simulated turret. That i know is a fact. Now that I pay attention to detail, I concur with Ack Ack.

perdweeb pretty much said the same thing, just worded differently. I believe that when the Maus at the Kummersdorf (outside of Berlin) was blown up by the Germans the Soviets were literally within the proving grounds. Kind of like when Baghdad Ali was giving his famous "The Americans are not at the Baghdad Airport" press conference when you can hear the tank and automatic weapon fire from the US forces that had breached the airport perimeter and were advancing up the runway.

lol, that was one of the funniest speaches IMO.

When I said "it never saw combat as Ack Ack mentioned" I was agreeing with him. Should have been a comma there, I apologize for the confusion. And do not believe Wiki. You'll learn that in college. Wikipedia sucks a big fat one, never trust it. use the sources listed at the bottom.

The book itself includes many other experimental German tanks. Lambert Surhone is a Nazi historian in all areas, politics, semantics, military, etc. He wrote the articles for the Beta Publishing article. Wikipedia published it and added their article also. I am not sure how publishing works, but anything Surhone is involved in, it is usually very accurate.
Nemisis, find me better evidence and i'll be open minded to change.

Aren't these the same tank?
Yep. But they're both in caps!
-
I get you know. I thought you meant he said it saw combat, and that you were saying otherwise.
I haven't heard much about surhone, and I'm cautious of anything with ties to wikipedia since it has biten me in the face once or twice. I believe you, just wondering if it was the same book.
