By any chance do you have the throttle mapped to an axis, mouse or another key?

Could be the layout of a laptops keyboard, if I remember right aces high uses the small numeric keypad on the right hand side for throttle and on a laptop you have to press Numlk to enable that although it'll be a pain to use. I'd suggest getting a joystick or if its handier a mouse mate.

icejaff:

Welcome! It sounds like you need to optimize your computer and keyboard for use with Aces High's set of keyboard commands. You can customize pretty much everything. If you must play using a laptop computer, you can customize every single function to invoke it with whatever keys are most conveniently available from your existing keyboard. It can be made to work. You may also need to downgrade the "Graphic Detail" to get acceptable performance out of a laptop, depending on how new and how powerful it is.

I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend purchasing a joystick and an external USB numeric keypad. It will work wonders for your enjoyment of Aces High.

Here are some video clips that you may find useful as you struggle through all of these customization options:

I hope this helps.

I had this problem once after re downloading AHII. I just calibrated the stick in AH and it was all good.
