First off I was trying to forward my ports on my router to my ps3, I apparently didn't forward the right ones when I was doing it manually. Anyway I saw an option on the router admin page that automatically forwards all the ports to my ps3 or any computer of choice, so I used that it worked but now I can't access my admin page :cry I've tried resets entered different common router ip addresses but, nothing worked can anyone help me?

There should be a recessed reset button on the router that will set everything back to default settings.

Sometimes username and password are both "admin"... I've seen blank username with "admin" for password
If you go to dos prompt (Start/Run type in CMD) and then type IPCONFIG and hit enter, the "gateway" ip address is what you need to put in your browser.

I have been having a problem with my router lately too. I have a Belkin N+ wireless router that keeps resetting itself during the most inopportune times like during last week's FSO. Any suggestions on what may be causing it? Just some background, I have it hard wired to my computer and neither netbook nor PS3 were pulling a wireless signal from it at the time. It is also password protected.

OK do this then... check the IP Address of your computer. Then use this same address, except change the last number to a 1. If this doesn't work, then change the last number to a 254.
Example: If your IP Address is 192.168.123.204 then try 192.168.123.1 and 192.168.123.254.

Usually you have to hold the reset button in for 20-30 seconds or something like that.

Clicking the reset button only reboots the router. Holding the reset button for more than 5 seconds (or until the lights all flash/turn off) restores the factory defaults.

I guess my reset button dosen't work then If I hold it in for 30 seconds or even 60 seconds nothing happens.

According to what I found, your default router address is 192.168.2.1
Typing that in the browser SHOULD get you into the router. If not, then you'll need to do a hard reset. If it still won't work, try changing your computer's IP address to 192.168.2.100 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 (and turn off DHCP). DNS and Gateway are not important right now.
Then try to access 192.168.2.1
If you get in now, make sure you enable the router's DHCP (you may have disabled it while playing around) and when you're done restoring all of the settings, reset your computer's IP settings to DHCP and hopefully this will take care of things.

Ok I can get back into my menu after doing a reset the wierd thing is on my DHCP client list it dosen't have any IPs listed when several computers are connected to it.

You might be looking at the wrong list. There should be two. One shows all of the DHCP clients connected, and the other shows any "static" DHCP clients you have set up. Some routers don't even show a complete list. You can set up a static DHCP by putting in a device's MAC (Hardware) Address and assigning it a specific IP address, but I've found that many consumer-grade routers don't always behave properly when you do set that up.
I'd be tempted to ditch the Belkin and go buy a DLink. I went through several "el-cheapo" wireless routers before I purchased a D-Link DIR-615. It has performed flawlessly over the last couple of years, and all of the functions actually work, as opposed to many other "cheapo" routers where you would enable a function and then you'd have to toss a coin to guess at whether or not it would actually behave.

Ok I just went through this and here's what I had to to.
Unplug your router from the modem. Access 192.168.1.1, reset everything back to default. Then reconnect your router to the modem and access the same number. Now rthis will bring up your routers setup page.
On the IP number change that to 192.168.0.1
Hopefully that will work, the reason to change the nuber on the router is the modem and the router cannot have the same IP addy. If you have any questions feel free to PM me

The modem's IP is assigned by your ISP and doesn't align with home router IP's. If everyone's modem were in the 192.168.x.x range they'd all be interfearing with one another and hackers would have a field day.

No Bald, you don't quite understand. The Modems usually work like a quasi-router, with both a public AND a private IP address. You can actually access most modems by putting in 192.168.1.1 or whatever depending on the brand.
