Title: vehicles no longer steer with rudder?
Post by: TDeacon on September 10, 2010, 05:27:26 PM
Been away from the game for a year or 2, and have forgotten a lot.  In particular, I no longer am able to steer a vehicle with my CH rudder pedals.  Their control inputs are recognized by the game for planes, but they have no effect on vehicles.  I am hoping this is due to a minor config oversight on my part...

Rudders don't work for steering in the #1 or drivers position, but still work for steering in the gunners positions. At least they do for me....

What about the tank commander's position?  That's the one I found most useful previously...

When setting up your joystick in game, make sure you've got both "Planes and Vehicles" and your "CH rudder petals" selected in the drop down box.  You should then be able to set that axis as yaw control.

Thanks guys.  However, what I just now tried is (without changing any settings) to steer from the gunner's position, per DaCoon.  It worked.  Then I tried again from the commander's position.  It worked too (though it hadn't 1 minute earlier...).  So, apparently, the game needed me to perform the action from gunner's position first (minor bug?).

Anyway, it works now; thanks again!

Glad you got it working.  Perhaps you somehow didn't have the auto-mode switchy-changy thingy selected and weren't really in GV mode...
