Title: Problems with X36 combo

Problem: Does not recognize any of the Cooliehat buttons. That is, I have to program then as keystrokes but, since no continuous mode can be set for those buttons, there is no way I can look other way than straight ahead. ANY suggestions, pls?

Have you downloaded the SGE from the Saitek site?  Or are you using the CD that came with the X36?  You need the SGE 1.3 software. You can get it at www.Saitek.com. (http://www.Saitek.com.)   Uninstall the software and reinstall it from a fresh download and then try reprograming using SGE.

This hint applies only to the new USB version of the X36.

Thks for your answer, but I forgot to mention that I have the Gameport version, that I've chosen due to Linux compatibility. No I don't have either Linux or W98 compat. Oops.

He heeee, you gonna have fun trying to get that puppy to work!!  I spent countless hours to get it to work.  First off you will need digital asperin. That will help the sticky key problem and make the hats 8 way (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

When the old spiking stick problem occurs you will have to open up the stick and clean the pots.  Migman has a site on  how to open the stick.  What I did was to take the pot caps off and soak a piece of paper with denatured alcohol and wipe between the pot wipers and the carbon.  Had to do it a couple of times but it did solve the problem!!

To program View forward up it shows 8: 5:, you will need to change it to 8 + 5: to get it to work.  All combo actions will have to be manually changed.

Saitek.com has all the links to Migman and digital asperin.

I got it working fine about 2 months before the USB version came on the market.  The USB version is everyting the analog version was supposed to be!!

Anyway, I think I will go for the usb, and buy a cheap stick for Linux usage.

After reading all the spiking, locking, freezeing, blasting, and all that nasty -ing stuff, I feel courageless to even give it a try   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/eek.gif)
