What is that yellow stuff under the right wing of the F-22? Looks like bondo or some kinda of patch up work.. :headscratch:

I believe that is some sort of device to make it appear on civilian radar.

damn, makes me wish I went saturday, obviously was better. Hell, we only had 3 38's up. Also there was no B-2 on sunday either

awesomeness!
what kinda camera did ya use?

Excellent! Thanks for the pics! :aok
It is interesting to me that in the 19th pic, it looks like both ailerons on the F-22 are deflected up. Part of the flight-control system using the ailerons for more than just roll?

This is quite common to see as the pilot moving the stick is simply causing an input to the flight control system to say what he wants the airplane to do. The computer then decides the best/most efficient/best performing way of achieving that input and will manipulate the surfaces (occasionally very quickly) to fill the "suggestion" if you will. You'll see the stabilators move on it and other fighters for roll usage as well.

Nice pics. Glad one of us who went had a decent camera.

But wait, did they go to the dueling area? And who won, the SAPPER's or the lone Raptor pilot? It's a tough call. :x

looks to me like the primer under the grey paint. If it doest bond well it comes off in flight. The F-16 I used to crew had that happen every so often.

Yep, I've seen stabilators doing that, but I haven't seen ailerons being used in that way before (providing more control modalities than normal airlerons or flaperons). It could be that F-16's, F-18's, and other fly-by-wire planes do the same but just that I never noticed it.

It's been a while but I think I think the Super Hornets do the same thing to a lesser extent though it may have been an illusion with the flaps deploying slightly during some of the maneuvers. (shrug) :headscratch:

That's a transponder, typicaly a very small box tucked away inside the aircraft that broadcasts a signal, has an on/off switch in military aircraft.
