Well you can use film viewer to set-up shots.  There is a way to convert the aces high film to .avi I believe, but it's never worked for me. I often use FRAPS software to capture the shots from film viewer.  They have a freeware version that limits your clips to 30seconds, but that is generally enough time.  I used Windows Live Movie Maker (which came pre-installed on my computer) to piece them together.  There are other options out there though.

Study the two tutorials here http://www.derstuhl.net/ahmd2/

After that, you just need to decide whether to buy Fraps or use the free version (I ended up buying it) Use Windows Movie Maker or buy Sony Vegas or a similar program.

Yeah, you have to start somewhere. If you really want to make a good movie, be ready to invest many hours into it's work.  Try to use some set up shots from the film viewer, this is really just film from game-play.

I think most people download fraps and then set up a shot in the film viewer.  You play the shot in film viewer and then use fraps to record it.

The water mark is the fraps.com written on the screen.  It's a way to encourage you to buy the full version.  I'd stick with the trial version unless you get really serious into using it.

ok well when i play the shot on fraps does what all actually shows up on the movie maker, because i dont want anything but the shot, no fraps no icons no words or messages that will interfere with the movie that i put in

The only thing that will show is the fraps.com watermark on the screen because of the free version.  I wouldn't worry about it though, you can still make good looking movies with it on there, and there is no reason to spend money on something if you're not sure you're going to use it yet.  The watermark really isn't too distracting, you get used to it and forget it's there pretty quickly.

Although, make sure you mark to "hide cursor" when recording in fraps or you might end up with your mouse cursor in the middle of shot as well.

A water mark is it Saying     www.fraps.com    up the top of the screen. But the copy i gave you a link to allows you to record with fraps for aslong as you like and have the hard drive space :)

If you want no icons record with Aces High film recorder then in aces film viewer you slow the film down to half speed (  x51 ) then in windows movie maker once you have edited the clip and draged it ionto the time line then you go into effects ad drag     Speed up Double x2         onto the clip this speeds it back up to normal speed plus slightly faster to give a real good feeling of speed you dont normally get in game. then repeat for every clip you add to windows movie maker add a tittle at the start and the end the publish have a private viewing ( i even have my friends round to see if the film is good but thats just me :) ) if its good upload to your youtube sight.

Remember if you like the film thats all that matters not what others think  :aok
